its pretty much the same thing really. trd added stuff to add not to seem like there over pricing something. like the cps extension wire? you dont need that it will still clear the shaft and pulley. but as far as the crank bolt the regular crank bolt wont break if that was the cause turbo cars will need a crank bolt to then cause there running alot more then the supercharger does. but whatever u might have a point but i still see it as ssomething not needed to run the supercharger. but whatever what do i know lol

I'm missing some parts from the pile of supercharger parts ..

# 38 - Hose, SC to Throttle Body - I think this got cut in half or 3 pieces to accomadate a K&N Intake - I'm guessing it's part of the Hose Kit: Inlet/Outlet/Bypass Replacement Part PTR41-21167

#42 - T fitting, 1/4 X 1/4 X 3/16 Vaccuum Line - I think this is just a little plastic piece - anyone know what replacement kit it's part of ?

#44 - VSV Rubber Mounting Bracket. Looks like just a rubber or plastic ring with a bracket going off of it - I'm assuming I can get another one though...

#51 - 71 degree C (160 F) Thermostat - I think it's PTR 41-21161

#53 - Hose Assem, Blue Parker Push Loc Oil Feed - Yeah, I definitely need this thing... Is PTR 41-21059 the right replacement part?

Is there photos of whats included in the replacement part kits from
http://www.superchargedscions.com/Su...t_Numbers.html ?

x2 on that. I wouldn't take a chance on the crank bolt shearing off.
The heavy duty crank bolt is there for the extra stress that the s/c puts on the serpentine belt. A turbo doesn't have anything to do with that so that's why its not needed.

I just need something like a website that displays actual pictures of what the parts are by PTR #. AND / OR I need to find someone parting out their S/C.

I know official toyota/ scion corporate websites have it, but of course, we humble mortals can't access it.

Can anyone look up a few parts for me and see if what they look like matches the pix in the installation manual?

You could call xAscionicle and see if he can print something out for you.

# 38 and # 53 are the only ones that are really needed. I know I dont have that thermostat in my car nor the crank pulley bolt and I have no issues for over a year now.

Just a warning to those of you who were considereing buying stuff piecemeal from the supercharger replacement list - it seems that toyota is no longer selling some of those part numbers.

I no longer get any results when I search for;

Replacement thermostat - 71 degree C / 160 degree F - PTR41-21161
Hose Assem. Blue Paker Push Loc Oil Feed - PTR41- 21059

Yeesh... a friend of mine who works at the dealer says there's only 4 of the Hose assemblys left in the entire country.

I'm hopeful that there's at least one of the thermostats left somewhere in the US.

Is the TRD thermostat not hooked up to anything?

ok correct me if i am wrong but i believe it is simply the cap to your radiator. the only difference is that the spring is different to allow steam to escape your radiator at a different amount of pressure/temperature. and no it is not connected to anything.. ill try to find a pick.

disclaimer.. i would pretty much call myself a newb at this car stuff, but i love it and am trying to learn

Yep, that's more or less it I think. I'm just trying to figure out if I need this being in norcal? We've got a few 100+ degree days sometimes in the summer... But apparantly some people can run fine without it. I'll ask my mechanic when I get a chance.

http://auto.howstuffworks.com/question248.htm

The thermostat is different than the radiator cap. It's located between the engine block and radiator. The thermostat stays closed when the water temp is relatively cool, circulating the coolant thru the engine (bypassing the radiator). This allows the engine to warm up properly, and quickly). It then opens up to allow the water to circulate thru the radiator when it reaches a certain temperature. The stock thermostat opens around 180*F. The TRD thermostat opens at 160*F.

Gates has one for under $100 that opens at 170*F. Mishimoto has one for about $50 that opens at 160*F.

http://auto.howstuffworks.com/cooling-system7.htm

The TRD supercharger does not come with a replacement radiator cap. The radiator cap increases the boiling point of the coolant. Stock radiator caps are rated at around 14.7psi. Higher altitudes will benefit from a higher pressure cap (even non-modified cars). I've heard that increasing the pressure even higher can help improve engine cooling in any altitude. I wouldn't go too high though, since that pressure rating is when the cap will release pressure built up in the cooling system.

hmmm i seem to have a similar problem now...
the situation is... I am in iraq, i ordered the kit "new" on ebay for my 08. i had my parents go thru it all to make sure it was all there and this is what they found out.
everything appeared to be new.
missing
a nut and a lock nut - no big deal should be easy to get a replacement i think
# 54 on the list in the install manual
"Fitting, Oil Feed 1/8”MNPT x dash 4 37°M
AN (Not Shown)"
they don't know what it looks like so they cant identify it but they say there is nothing left over so they think it is missing.

wondering If anyone knows what this is or has a picture that i could send to them so that maybe they can identify it.
thanks for any help

oh yeah my mom said this too...
Extras:
There are two things we do have that are not on the list or picture. THey make me think of sockets that go to the socket wrench. they are heavy cylinders. they are metal. one is over 1/4 inch high, the other about 1 inch. they are about 3/4" in diameter and have a hole through the middle that a pencil might fit through. Dad thinks the shorter one is a washer but no way. I was looking at the bigger one and it's the only thing that doesn't look super new. maybe cause we were getting hand oil on it?

sorry for her vague description, anyone have a clue? lol

Yeah, I'm missing that too but I think it's one of those parts you can pick up at a hardware store or Kragen's. It's shown on my copy of the installation manual - it's just a cylindrical tube fitting with slightly different ends.

I think one of the two extra pieces your moms is describing is probably #54. It's just a cylindrical fitting to join the ends of two hoses together. I have no idea what the other piece is.
