ny..yeah it would be better to have a shop do it, after you pay my gas or plane tickets you would be way over what you would pay the shop to do it. thats not saying i wouldnt enjoy working on your ride bro.

i think if i could rent a lift somewhere me and my borther can do it. But where to rent a lift, thats the question.

 

what base are you from? usually alot of bases have a mechanic shop with access to all tools and lifts you want and its like 3 dollars something an hour or so. i know when i was stationed in ft.riley we had that. it was awesome.

i installed my zpi turbo kit, exhaust, and s-techs, at camp lejeune's auto hobby shop when i was stationed there back in the day.

 

When i'm in the states i'm at Ft.lewis. But my car is not there cuz i pcs'ed there 1 month before deployment plus my car was in pieces back then.

 

Just found out that my head was tourqued to factory specs and not ARP specs.. thanks to Xcessive motorsports in San Angelo, TX !!!

Now, how hard is it to re-tourque the head and how should i do it ?

 

Well torquing them is easy. Getting to them if the engine is in the car is not too easy. Have to take chain off cams so you can pop cams out.

 

who told you they were torque to oem specs? how did they check? like guru said to torque it or atleast check it you have to take everything off that was mentioned above by guru. so if they did take it off bam you can torque it then. if not well gotta take it apart. GL

 

they told me ( people from texas shop ) and the reason why is because remember when the first time they were assebling the engine 3 treads gave out and ERL pyed to the machine shop to fix them ?

SO they tourqued thehead to 55lbs on ARP headstuds cuz they were afraid to break the threads again.

 

wow erl block got stripped with arp torque specs? its either a faulty block or a faulty torque wrench

 

i dont know what happened over there, but i spoke to Sean from ERL back then and e was really surprised as he told me they checked everything and used the ame holes to install sleeves. However he still payed to fix 3 threads 2 that gave out and 1 that didnt lok good. No problems with ERL their customer service ws great and i would definately reccomend people to them but to deal wth them directly without any dealers.

 

heres a dyno run chart on 15 psi. check it out people, as i get more graphs i will post them up. This is not the run where i made 398WHP, on this run its a little less but thats on 15psi.
