One thing i can answer that IDEALLY i would love to not cut or remove the crash bar. I have no problems with notching it if by that you mean drilling few holes to secure the intercooler.

My end psi that i'm looking for now is 20psi pretty much whatever power i will put down, i estimate that @20psi i will very close or a little bit above 500 flywheel HP. Once everything is good at 20psi i will be set for few years with that as it is well enough power for my needs and track/street driving.
By notching the crash bar I mean cutting a part of it away for the IC.

So, a core that needs to be good for 550-600 would be ideal then.

Decide on the crash bar notion, and I will drum up further Yev

Ideally i would not want even notch the crash bar.. i'd like to start with that plan first.
less ideally a little bit of notching i guess would be fine as i hope it won't affect safety much...but again i would love to keep the crash but as a whole piece.

Ok. Obviously we can do custom, but that's more expensive. We will save that for last or until needed.

As far as PTE/Garrett complete cores, you have the following options:

AS1025 31.50L x 8.00H x 3.50D, 600-hp, 2.75" Inlet/Outlet

That will work^

___________________________________________

Notching options below that are not custom......................

31.50L x 10.30H x 3.50D, 750-hp, 2.75" Inlet/Outlet

^^ This would require some notching for sure.

Vibrant 12810 Air-to-Air Intercooler w/ end tanks (Core Size: 22"W x 9"H x 3.25" thick) 550HP<<Would require notching

That's about all I can offer that wouldn't require removing, but will require notching of the crash bar that will meet your power needs AND be an "off-the-shelf" item

Ok, so pretty much the option of PTE/Garrett

AS1025 31.50L x 8.00H x 3.50D, 600-hp, 2.75" Inlet/Outlet good enough for 600HP and does NOT require ANY altercations to the crash bar right ?

and as far as i understand much more affordable then custom...
I'd say that one is at #1 spot.

My intercooler pipes i belive 2.5" right ? So i will have to run 2.5" to 2.75" silicone coupler right ?
Will the difference in the diameter somehow negatively affect the performance ?
By having it 8" tall will it hang low or will it be normal ? I have an RS 3 do you think it will fit perfectly ?

Your hot side will need a 2.5>2.75" transition

Your cold side will need a 2.75>2.25 transition

More potential for drag (pressure loss) through the core with the wider one. Also, you may have to trim some off of the pipe because this will push the pipes that go around the front frame out toward the fenders.

8" will be about 1.5" lower than our current setup. This will be hanging fairly low, but not incredibly. Again, I do not know how well it will fit on your RS3. It is 5" wider than your current one, it is just as deep and 1.5" taller.

Time to get out a tape measure and do some measuring!

^^ Got ya.
well i'd love to tape measure but i'm not exactly right next to my car lol...
I guess i will have to ask Vinny to that or since theoretically this should work i can just task the guys to do whatever is needed to make it work (trim pipes or whatever)

I didnt know we had a cold side 2.25"

They are over-rated, expensive and work decent.

Bell are decent intercoolers for sure, but again, expensive.

Well for some reason the only companies that offer intercooler which will not require cutting my crash bar are the expensive brands like Spearco and Bell, garrett does not have an off the shelf design that i need.

Paul when you say they are expensive i see their prices. Will a custom intercooler be more expensive then them ?

Yev, custom will always be more than an off the shelf.

Check out Griffin too. We do some cool custom stuff with them all of the time. Nice extruded tube and fin cores for sure.

but how efficient is that thing ?
Dont you have to use ice in there and constantly add ice ?

What do you guys think about DEI CryO2 (CO2) Intercooler spray kit ?
Would that be efficient enough at helping me cool my engine @20psi with the Dezod's intercooler i currently have ?

Do i have to get tuned with AND for that sprayer kit or i can use it with no specific tuning for it ?

Like will a drop of 30F mess with my map once i freeze the intercooler ?

you dont need to put ice all the time for a water to air IC.. all you need is some water plumbing.. oh if you go with cry spray and it leans out all you have to do is tune the air temperature trim map to add fuel at those colder intake temps.. or it might have been setup by vinny already..

All right guys, here are few updates.

I picked an intercooler. It will be spearco intercooler measuring 24x7.9x3.5 and flowing 550HP got a real good deal on it for $385 shipped. Just have to check if they are ready to ship and will order next week.

Ordered Koyo radiator which will be delivered to Vinny's shop today and 2 12" push type SPAL fans flowing about 1300CFM each and SPAL fan control box V3 are on the way as well !
SPAL control box allows to cotrol second by programming when and how hard it will kick in.

Now my cooling needs are pretty much complete and with that i should be set for all of my needs.
