What type of oil are you using for break in? I know Royal Purple makes break in oil and I was running thier 5/30 before the build so I figured Id use that.

 

castrol gtx 10w30 son!!!!!!!.....and to the other guy...forgot your name.....it was the exhaust cam timing that was off.....im so glad to have my car back(not rubbing it in marcelo) because i so dearly miss boost.....hit 2 psi today...what what........oh whats everyones theories on break ins?......hard or soft?

 

u should probably be using break in oil dude, a thicker oil is recommended i believe, i broke my motor in OFF boost lmao.. but i honestly wanted to break it in on boost and show it some psi but the shop that did it said no

Break in car in like you drive it. Just my opinion. There is no right way. do what you want.

 

i have heard so much people say there own way to break in the motor. why not like you get it from the dealer 500 and your done lol. but i'll break mines in however they tell me to. if i ever get my car back. lol you know whats funny. i am paying 3 months now for a car i never see or drive lol. its been a long time and still waiting. i'm getting restless.

 

Dude my car has been on jackstands since jan. if that makes you feel any better.

Machine shop delays. Even with how bad the money flow in detroit is, it seems every and thier mother's decided to do motors at the same time as me!

 

haha welcome to race season yamaha....it took 2 months for my motor to get outta the shop.......marcelo....you should go to the shop....take off your valve cover.....set your crank to 0 and cylinder one to top dead center and check the timing yourself....also....i found out today that if your ecu fuse is blown it will just sit there and crank....make them pull the fuse out and replace it anyway.....i have half a mind to drive down there and help you out man haha

yamaha your car has been on jackstand but atleast you can go to your garage and see it lol. i sometimes forget what color my car is and how it looks like lol.

ok spoke with luiggi and he has told me that the cam angle wasnt set right. there putting in the motor back in and then trying it again. so i should know by tomorrow afternoon whats up.

thanks! i spoke to julio the one who is actualy building it and he told me that the exhuast cam was off by a lil bit. so he is putting putting everything back together now then tomorrow evening he will put it in the car then try it again.

 

fingers crossed for you bro can't wait till u get up and running all the boosted tc's from ft myers will come and meet up with u guys on the east coast can hit a track day or w/e have some fun

 

thats exactly what was wrong with mine marcelo....exhaust cam was off a tad......yay.....its gonna run....
