Motor Damage Due to Overboosting (w/pics)
Shame people want immediate power without knowing the consequences of what it brings. Do it right the first time and you can enjoy it forever. Hope your buddy learns that patience is a virtue.

I didn't see any damage to the bottom of the cylinder head, other than the valves. No chunks of aluminum missing. Head gasket looked good. He simply melted his pistons and blew them out the bottom. My offer still stands.
i would rebuild the head. what do you think I am gonna do slap this on a car as-is? The head is structually sound from what I can see. Thats all I need, I have 2 built motors and one needs a new head. This head fits the bill

just read up on this...wow completely trashed the entire engine. Here is the thing, Treadstone claims on their website, if you are running the 7 or 9 lb boost, you do not need managment. Has anyone ever called them out on this?

Agreed, but many have said never boost w/o management. I am assuming Treadstones "tune"
isn't comparable to say F/IC and a tuner @ 7-9psi. I would like to see a comparison of the 2.

He should have known better. But, I am not exactly sure when I'm gonna have it all done, but by this summer....hopefully even the beginning of May, I should be running a Dezod S1 kit. But yea I have definitely learned a lot from you guys. I havent really posted much in the F/I section...just read. Been waiting for a reliable kit to come out so this doesnt happen to me. But yea thanks guys
LOL.... just because some people can hold a wrench and take things apart / put parts on an engine...doesn't mean they should.
Hell I've been building performance/custom cars and engines for a long, long time...but even with all my experience, I've haven't been in on a F.I. install yet...so it only makes sense to consult those with a lot of experience BEFORE you try something new. That way they don't end up like that noob with a trashed engine.
