My STOCK S/C tC blew its motor **EDIT: DOWN AGAIN **
someone might have said it you might have gotten it fixed im tired of reading...but you had 1.5 qts when it arrived at the dealer...usually when you throw a rod u lose oil and you through 2 im just you lost some oil on the highway...they are just being cheap..srry to hear...
it hasnt been fixed by toyota, I am paying to fix it. I will take it to arbitration or court to recoup that cost.... one can only hope especially since the pistons came out freely..... and had oil on the rings. An engine that seized wouldn't have been that easy to remove the pistons

My bad. It was more of a retorical question. I'm just relieved and impressed that you went from a bad spot to adding all the goodies. Would love to see what the wideband reads with your setup.

I just realized that since I will have to keep my car longer than I may have wanted to, that I might as well put some money into my car so that I may enjoy it more.

FWIW, Jetlounge found a nice one and Perrin(sp?) makes a fairly functional unit. I theorize that the lack of a catch can is another of TRD's seemingly fatal ommisions with the kit. Particularly if you drive the ____ out your car!!

And now, the long awaited photos of Mike's holy engine.

hmmm holes are bad m'kaayyyy

Here's what it looks like inside the cylinder that threw the rod - you'll notice the walls are all nice and smooth. Also, you'll probably notice we took the piston out (heh)

Here's the piston that caused all the trouble. You'll notice there's no damage where the piston contacts the wall of the engine block.... of course, the joint to the crankshaft is totally f@cked.
So, the problem is not lack of oil. The problem was the rod connecting the piston to the crank broke. Now, why that happened? Who knows.
