JR (John or Delsolid) from AEM sent me a base map that I have loaded and I am tuning it myself. Next wednesday I'm going back to the dyno for more accurate tuning

 

BASE MAP!? base map set for stock, or minor tweeks set for boost? Could I get a copy of that from you?

 

he has a bigger turbo than you. you need a custom tune on that bad boy.

 

I know, I know. And I'm getting tuned this saturday.
I just want to plug the thing in now so I can read some of the gauges!

I still want the EMS, but the F/IC seems like a good starting point...

 

Brett is right. My base tune from JR was setup for my 630cc injectors, Garett GT3076R. I saved that tune and can send it to you but remember it is a BASE LINE , you still need to tune it to your car. PM me. I took the base tune and changed it for my setup since the Water/Meth injection richin's up the AFR I am able to lean out the fuel delivery a bit. My AFR's with the WM injection on is around 12.5:1

 

The EMS will be out in a week or so with avengence.

I have a question for you all.
There is a plug for a boost line, i believe, on one side of the box. Can I just T off a vac line and connect that up? Will that just let me log boost in the software?

 

First, when I said 12.5:1 that was while in boost.
second, yes connect the MAP port on the FIC to a vac line that you already have in the car from the boost gauge you already installed, right?
And yes this will give the FIC the data it needs to make decisions and also it will log your load which is a combination of things including boost.

Well, thanks for the maps, but my buddy convinced me to just wait till thursday and let the shop do the tuning.
After seeing Bret's impatients end up in a cracked radiator, I think I will hold off.

Could you get me a guestimate on the price possibly? If you could send me a pm letting me know that would be great... I might even get this first before I boost and install it on my tC just to play around and see if I can't squeeze some more hp out of her... :D

always on top of things I see so you aren't going to try and tune the F/IC yourself? Have you checked the aempower forum lately, I wonder if they have any base map's for ya... and I would hop on in but... (looks in wallet) I AM BROKE... I will as soon as money is available :D

 

Yeah, I've been on there. Gerabaldy actually sent me his, which I believe he got from JR over there, along with one that he tuned for his car. So I was going to plug it in and mess around with it cause i was not going to the tuner till Saturday, but I got an appt for Thursday, so that's only another day I have to wait. Can't do it tonight cause my new pipes are coming in.
I think my shop is looking forward to messing with the new system, so I'll leave it up to them.

 

sounds good, they may even work more than you pay for to learn up on the new system so that will be a plus... and your car will be tuned, look out vegas... :D

 

has anyone used the aem fic for a trd s/c setup yet,and if so how are the results?

Well, my tuner did not actually begin tuning until yesterday, but I never hear back from him. So I can only assume he is hitting a bit of a learning curve with both the AEM and the tC.
Hopefully, I will have an update today
