you are going to have to narrow where you think its comming from ...front of the car ..back of the car .... .... .... im going to guess you hear it comming from where the intake is?

yes... I hear it from where the intake is. It's very noticeable while the engine is under load and decelerating.

Thanks

It may be the normal clicking sound that you hear at idle, but is amplified by the intake?

I hear it at idle a little bit, and a lot more under load. It sounds like a vibrational noise, but I cant find anything that is loose. The car was running fine..... I decided to put the Short ram on, and now it makes noise......

I'm going to put the stock airbox back on when I get home from work and see if it goes away..... in the mean time, please post any other solutions/ideas you may have.

Thanks again

Thanks for all your input.

It was probably just the normal sound at idle. Switch to a heavier weight oil, put the intake back on, and see how it sounds. I don't even consider 5w30 oil, ESPECIALLY during the summer.

putting the Stock airbox back on is not what I would call a "FIX"....

What Intake is this? Did you make it yourself? Ebay bought intake? what?

im wondering what it could be because there isnt much complexity to a tube and filter ....so I wonder where your sound is comming from. Are there any other details of when you hear the noise and what it sounds like? Did anybody hit the gas so you could look under the hood for where the noise was comming from? Remember - the intake moves a tad so if anything is within 1/2 inch from it ... there is a good chance it was vibrating. If thats the case you can just cut the tube an inch and that will solve your problem.

yea when you installed it did you use any sort of bracket to hold it down? I reused the original brackets that came with the k&n and it worked fine
