Default Oil Spraying from panblock gasket...

Oil only sprays out around 14psi or more. I ran 17psi the other night againt an old firebird, and my ____ was smoking like crazy... oil was spraying onto the dp, and exhaust. I'm guessing this is due to , to much back pressure. How can I releive some of that pressure so this annoying oil problem wont happen. The car doesnt leak any oil while normal driving or just being parked. I dont have any oil spots in my garage, and it only sprays when i boost the ____ out of her.

I have a 4" down pipe, with a full 3" exhaust. Do i need to add more vents on the valve cover? Any input is appreciated.

Thanks,

Clay

you can put 1 way check valves on your VAC lines leading from the intake manifold.

sounds like crankcase pressure and not back pressure. are you running your pcv to your intake? if not, that would help. you can also take off your oil pan and apply new sealant.

I don't have an instate Brett. I just run a screen over the turbo inlet. All of the filters that have a 5" inlet are to large to fit in the space I have to work with. I have a catch can set up where the battery was located. What else can I do to relieve crank case pressure?

as far as a chk valve in the vac lines.... that's gonna be to much of a pain in the butt since I swapped all of the rubber hoses for braided with -an fittings.

I plan on putting a new seal on the oil pan when I change my oil in the next week or so, but I didn't want to blow the new seal on my first highway run lol.

Use FIPG instead of auto parts RTV, dunno why but I had a similar issue last year, switched to FIPG and never had a leak around the pan again.

if you fab up an intake and route the pcv to it then it will suck out the crankcase pressure as builds rather than just venting it to atmosphere.

I don't use the auto parts atv stuff... I use the ish from Toyota. I've never had a problem with this until last wed when I turned the "go baby go" ****! I guess is better than tossing a rod thru the block... that thread will come in time lmao.

so is adding an intake my only solution? there's gotta be other ways to minimize crank case pressure. Making an intake is gonna be a pain in my ---!

i doesnt have to be a huge intake. it just has to be long enough to weld on a bung for the pcv hose.

Like I said exhaust scavenging is a good alternative Dont know why you dont see it much in the import community, but hot rodders do it all the time. Heres a link to a kit you can use (minus hose to the valve cover)

http://www.jegs.com/i/Moroso/710/25900/10002/-1

Obviousely you wont use the 2 breathers for V8 valve covers.

agree..

it will smoke real bad if there is any thing blocking the vc from venting...whats happening is there is alot of pressure pushing oil past the seal on the turbo and oil is dumping into your downpipe. thats if there is a clog. however it sounds like you are leaking boost into your engine. if possible post up picks of how you have your catch can lines running and vc.

just me but id replace the pcv (located on the backside passenger side valve cover). check your oil catch can and lines to make sure they are not clogged.

another idea (just thinking out loud here) is ring landings have crumbled. just for giggles do a comp test and/or leakdown test.

good luck and happy boosting
