Having a CEL because of a turbo kit is a myth. It can be solved. I've been CEL free for over a year.

Well that's good to know, what even causes it to come on, and how would you get rid of it?

95% of the CEL's are because of the removal of the Primary CAT (due to turbo manifold replacing stock header). To remove this CEL for that, you run an Anti-Fouler on the secondary 02 sensor. The other CEL's if you have them usually are because of lack of tuning, or people simply removing their sensors altogether so they can have complete control over the car using the Engine management of their choice.

Alright cool thanks for the info I fig thats what caused the CEL, but just wanted to double check. Don't wanna spend all this money on a kit if my car wouldn't pass emissions or inspection.

I respect your vast knowledge and seniority but Dezod does make quality parts as well as sell quality parts. For example, Dezod makes there own Vacuum manifold, Dezod Motorsports Aluminum CHRA Oil Discharge Flange for t3/t4 turbochargers, Dezod Motorsports Idle Air Control Valve Kit, Dezod Motorsports Race Radiator, Dezod Motorsports Stainless Steel Braided Brake Line, Dezod Motorsports V2.3 Competion Spec Rear Sway Bar Endlink, Dezod Motorsports Port-N-Polished Head, Dezod Ball Bearing, and so on. If Im not mistaken..I believe these are made by them correct?

Bobby we can install are own anti foulers, you bum save some money and stop letting a shop do everything... But I am sure if we talk to Chri before we get the turbo they would include one with the exhaust.

Ptuning did do the swap. I think the fix would be a manual wiring harness and ecu.... dont quote me on that though.

You're exactly right, manual harness and ECU swap. It isn't a must if you can live with the CEL's but it would be nice to have done one day.

CEL's can be thrown from a tune also if the car's ecu is making too many fuel trim adjustments. If your maf clamping is off you will pop a high/low voltage maf CEL. Many reasons just based on the tune. I desoldered mine when I did my LED swap (along with my TPMS) and just use my scangaugeII to monitor codes.

CEL's have everything in the world to do with the tune and users choice of management.

I use an F/IC so I can't speak on users of the eManage Ultimate, Blue, or stand alone systems but I don't have a CEL and I am not using a defouler.

Prior to my tune I would throw a P0420 which is a cat inefficiency code due to the primary cat being removed. I put on a defouler and it went away so I was CEL free.

I had the car tuned and after I threw a P0138 which is the secondary O2 voltage too high. This was due to the defouler on the secondary O2.

Once I removed the defouler I no longer have any CEL's so it is entirely possible to run without defoulers and CEL's given the tune is correct as well as your choice of management.

If you have a crap tune and (on the F/IC) if you O2 map isn't tuned you will receive primary O2 CEL's and you would be replacing the most expensive O2 sensor on the car prematurely. If your MAF map isn't clamped you will throw P0101 codes left and right causing you to prematurely clean and replace your MAF.

What i'm trying to say is get a good tune....*COUGH* PTUNING....the best $500 you'll ever spend and you'll never throw a tune related CEL.

In fact I feel like my car is factory boosted that i've now removed my Scan Gauge

Ok cool, just gauging the performance, since I'm going to be using their Dual BB GT3076r option with the kit.

You think if you would to switch the harness and ecu you would put up better number with a tune?

There is a DIY.

Just scroll down past the header installation part, and follow those steps for the anti-fouler he does. I did the same, and no CEL for me.
