We do not offer nor do we recommend coating our turbo manifold. From our experience, we have yet to see a coating that can withstand the extreme temperature that a turbo manifold generates, especially on a track car. Most high temp coating will eventually crack and flake off.

would manifold blankets be ok to use? i know those header wraps are bad.. or a custom heatshield maybe best? i was just curious especially for those daily drivers that dont want their ac to be gone as the hood temperature goes way up

I would recommend just heat wrapping the top half of the downpipe near the A/C and that would be sufficient. Our turbo manifold and turbo charger were designed to be mounted low to not only lower the center of gravity for racing but also to keep the heat out of the engine bay as much as possible. This also eliminates any issues with burning the hood liner and damaging C/F hoods.

I haven't had any issue with mine for the last 2 years, but I dont' track mine...I just really don't like the raw, unfinished look.

Hey MrC i have a question for you. Im planning on going "sleeper" mode with the turbo kit. And i was wondering if it would be safe to anno the FMIC black.

Anodizing the FMIC is perfectly fine, just don't powder coat it.

Just curious, but do you plan on offering a re-circ dump? After running an open dump for 6 months, I would personally want a re-circ dump, regardless of the HP loss.

Jon,

Like anything else, if there's enough demand for it, we may consider it. We purposedly position our dumptube to exit right at the mid-section of our downpipe to allow for future recirc option. Dumping the wastegate gas back into the downpipe downstream and at least 2-3 feet away from the turbine exit minimizes power loss and boost creep with recirc. dumptube configuration. Also the angle of the merge of the recirc dumptube into the downpipe also affects the wastegate efficiency.

So when can we expect a ptuning turbo kit upgrade on your car?
