Default really confused...

Ok so I always hear talk about e-manage... unichip... AEM computers and so on! What is up with all this stuff and what is the difference? I did a search but really didnt come up with anything. And is there any way to take my laptop inside my car and adjust the computer when I want? Or be able to view car perfomance? I am so confused.

I dont wanna be rice lol... just to do some good tuning and adjust the computer when I add new performance parts. But I really dont know about all the emanage and unichip and what it all does. I know that it basically creates a new air/fuel map for the driving conditions. But weather changes and so do most of my aftermarket parts.... soooo thats why I am confused.

Pretty much all of them are STRONGLY suggested that you tune at a trained dyno tuning facility...

Short- Emanage is easiest to self tune
- Unichip must be tuned at a dealer
AEM is pricey....

Just look into EMANAGE in the search and you'll be good to go.

I will have to check it out... I want to wait for more superchargers to come out and see what power those can handle. I know HKS is in development of a supercharger
so only time will tell.

Plan on investing in dyno time.

Unichip!!! Plug and play!! Come's pre-tuned from the manufactuer or get a custom pre-tune at www.ForceFedracing.com Also with the Unichip for an extra 2 or 3 hundred dollars you get a Flux Display that will monitor your engine vitals, g-tech meter and has security options (like eneter your pin before your car starts) and yes 100% wireless. Bluetooth baby. Flux display is just an altered hp palm pilot for uni-chip.

The Emanage Ultimate is still buggy. And the tC's ECU has been known to remap over it.

AEM. I don't know of any tCs right now that are using an AEM computer.

Unichip is probably the best one out there now.(with the flux capacitor. hehe I made a funny)
The downside is it has to be tuned by an authorized Unichip technician.

I think the closest one to me is like 80 miles away

Toyomoto has done it.

AEM would be your ultimate best bet, then Unichip. But emanage will get you by and its been working good so far.

some ecu's will allow you to have 2 independent maps and you could change them on the fly. Problem solved

You'll have to find Dr. Brown. Sorry, couldn't resist. From what I have read, the AEM is much more expensive than Unichip. Also, I don't think a stand-alone system would be best suited for a daily driver. Try searching on here. There hasn't been a lot posted on the AEM ems, but there is a lot of info. on Unichip and E-Manage on these boards.
