Default SC for 2007 TC's

I just got off the phone with TRD and apparently CAI's, TRD or not, arent compatible with the 07 SC's because the MAF can't handle the changes in air with the both the SC and CAI... does that sound fishy to any of the more knowledgable people here? I just want to know because i dont want to end up with a TRD CAI collecting dust... If that is true and the MAF will throw lights left and right, how can i fix it so that i can use both my SC and my CAI?

that being said... do any of you have any ideas how i can safely get more HP out of my SC/engine?

so far ive read on these forums about pulleys, a new BPV, electronic management for SC's, and a SC'ed TC that puts out 300HP? any ideas?

You could by an K&N filter to replace the stock cloth filter! Its cheaper than a CAI and you get similar results!

I put the MMW supercharger intake on my car and my A/F was way off. It would get so lean, my AEM wideband would climb past 18 and then display "---" and be in the red (lean) and the timing would retard so much that I could barely keep up with interstate traffic. As long as I'm accelerating hard and keep accelerating, everything is fine. Normal driving was out of the question though. I have since put the stock intake back on and no more problems.

If you want to use the TRD intake, or any other intake not specifically designed for the supercharger, you'll have to cut the tubing in order to make it fit and hope your A/F doesn't get screwy.

Not everyone has problems with a chopped intake, but it would be wise to get a wideband A/F gauge and get a proper tune.

Ways to up the power is upgraded supercharger pulley, lightened stock size crank pulley, light flywheel (new clutch is recommended), header, downpipe, replace catalytic converter, 2.5" exhaust, engine management, upgraded fuel pump and injectors, colder spark plugs, Ripp Mods custom cams, and water/meth injection. There are a few other things that could be done like rebuilding the engine with new pistons, rods, stage 1 or 2 engine block, new valves, etc...

Thanks for the help and information. As of right now my CAI is sitting here collecting dust and I highly doubt anyone would be willing to buy it so I think I'm going to cut the tube so I can install it to the SC hose. Thanks again and I hope I don't run into the same problems as you did.

My TRD CAI was collecting dust for a while too. I remember when I got the TRD CAI and ask them will this fit on the s/c and the dealer said it would fit the S/C . They lied to me. that's when the s/c first came out. I'm still mad to this day about it. if knew it will not fit i will never got it

Yeah I basically got shafted too... the only thing stopping me from hacking the CAI and connecting it to the SC is my lack of funds for emanagement and a proper tune. I hope all you 07's with a SC didnt get a CAI...
