Default SC ECU cannot return back to stock?

The techs at the dealer where I had my SC installed were questioning each other on if it's possible to return my ECU back to the stock map... anyone know anything about this?? Sounds weird to me.

Ugh that sucks. Time to find someone local to swap with! =\. What did you end up doing, I remember seeing your thread about it just a few minutes ago.

When I had my supercharger installed, the tech gave me a software module for if I ever needed to change it back to stock. I'm not sure how it works, but I assume your able to reflash your ecu w/ this....

Part# 89663-YW201 SOFTWARE MODULE

Was anyone else given this module when they got their s/c installed?

I did as well, but I thought the module was FOR the TRD reflash? Let me call the tech who did my SC right now and i'll update on what he says.

Okay so my Tech wasn't in so I called Steven's Creek Toyota and spoke with Dave. He says it's possible to work backwards with the ECU. If it has been reflashed with the TRD Map, you have to bring the CAR with the ECU in it (The car doesn't run with stock parts + TRD map tho.) But anyways, he says it is possible. On the other hand garage1217 says it's also possible to snag a USED ECU of the SAME YEAR, SAME MODEL, SAME TRANNY from any ol' TC. The only thing you'd have to do with garage1217's trick is hook up a diagnosis wire to some ports somewhere and leave your KEY in the on position for 30 minutes. There is a guide out there for garage1217's method, just not sure if it'll work.

I am going to buy a USED ecu for $125 so i'll let you guys know what happens. If it works, i'll post up a DIY

Thanks. So I was viewing browndoggs video about how his car started with the TRD map. In my case it's a little different. My car starts normally for 2 seconds but then shuts down after that. I have fueling leaking out of 1 injector, so im guessing the O ring needs to be replaced. I currently have NO intake while starting the car. There's a hole in my downpipe from the welded bung from my AFR gauge. Do you think any of these are the reasons why my car shuts down? Maybe it's the "no intake"?

So let me get this straight. yo try to start your car with the wrong injectors, a hole in your s pipe, a leaking injector, and NO intake and you wonder what wrong??

Actually, the STOCK injectors with a damaged o-ring, and yes the hole, and no intake. If I remember correctly, starting with no intake doesn't hurt, but i'm not too sure. Only reason I ask is because Browndogg was running on a TRD map and maintained startup, so i'm wondering what my problem could be. That's all.

yes, and the stock injectors are the WRONG injectors. With the remapped ECU the CORRECT injectors, are the TRD injectors.

And no, starting with no intake is not ok. It changes everything associated with the amount of air being drawn in. So you are getting a ton more air, a ton less fuel (because of the wrong injectors) and you have an exhuast leak. SO that is your answer to why it doesnt work.

I understand the situation with the injectors, I'm returning my car back to stock, so I don't have the supercharger anymore. And thank you for the feedback, will get them patched to see if I can run without being shut down.

And the reason why I asked about the intake is because while swapping my stock intake for an AEM, I had no intake and my car didn't shut down like it is now. So I guess it's from the other problems not fixed.

Yea I had a LONG battle with this stupid issue.

You cannot un-reflash the ecu. I had to buy a new ecu from a junk yard for like $90. Not bad. You cant drive the car with the TRD reflash. Like someone said above... search my screen name on you tube and you will see why.
