SC OWNERS: Broken Supercharger Impeller housing mount
Update: Based on the findings in this thread, this COULD wind up being a common problem. TRD's official stance is that this ONLY happens when these bolts are overtorqued, however there's anecdotal evidence suggesting that even when torqued properly this mount point can break. See the pics below and check yours as well.
NEW SUPERCHARGER PURCHASERS: Do yourself a favor - MAKE SURE this bolt does not get overtorqued by grabbing a red sharpie, opening up the installation manual and turning to page 23. Circle step R. Circle the words "Torque to 25-30 ft-lbs later." Under that, write "DO NOT OVERTORQUE, AS OVERTORQUING WILL BREAK THE BRACKET ACCORDING TO TRD." While this may not prevent a breakage, at least the dealer can say they didn't overtorque that bolt.
---------------------------------
Was doing the Fidanza Flywheel install over the weekend.... before we started, we noticed the rear supercharger housing mount was broken (like, COMPLETELY). Based on the wear of the two ends rubbing together, I estimate it's been like this for a few weeks at least.
I have a call into Keith@Liberty Toyota here in NJ and he's looking into the problem. I noticed there was one other complaint about it over at YSTC, so it looks like I'm the 2nd to report this problem.
Apparently it's caused by overtorquing the bolts that mount the SC to the tranny, but I'd like to hear that from TRD's mouth.
I'll keep this thread updated.

Keith@Liberty just called me back. Bracket's on order, and he said they'll make it right.... TRD also states that this only happens if the bolt is overtorqued... So yeah, there's a little caveat for future SC buyers. Make sure they torque everything to spec.

I'd report it to your dealer ASAP (if you did it at one). If you didn't, you might have to call TRD and tell them the situation (you should still be covered for 12000 miles even if you did it yourself).

So basically, what do we have here? Is this an issue that's going to plague ALL supercharger owners at some point? What exactly is torquing this point and causing this break?
