If you don't since it's cast iron it's going to rust like crazy.
correct the piping we are getting a rust free coating on them. The intake will be in the back off the turbo with a sock to help with dust and sand and a cover to help with debree.

As for the oil.. a Scavenge pump is used to dispurse the oil

Squires Turbo System made a lot of turbo setup like this and had no problem at all. Most 4x4 truck uses this for off-roading or pulling heavy loads where it always has so much dirt, water, etc. on the air filter with socks but still runs great. Sometimes I think its not a good idea cuz off roading truck tend to go over a thick mud and I wonder, how can they get air if the turbo system is under the truck flooded with mud, then again, theres a snorkel that goes through the back bed of the truck. Neat turbo system that is always cooled but I think this turbo system will be just fine on the tC but don't go over a flood water.
thats the thing - i sucked up water going through a horrible foot 1/2 pond w/ my old intake (it was pitch black out that night and i took my foot off the gas). They need to make sure that intake is high enough. I saw a picture online of a car w/ a turbo like this and it looked pretty low to the ground.
