tC Fuel Management, ECU, etc.
So, after reading the 'what we know about tC fuel management' thread, and bumming around on the mr2owners forum, I get the impression that nobody has been able to crack a Toyota ECU to date and get in there like the whole crew of aftermarket companies have with Honda ECU's (Hondata, etc etc).
I'm curious if this is because of a lack in interest by aftermarket companies in Toyota if if Toyota ECU's are just just insanely difficult, nye impossible? If this is the case, are there really any possabilities to truely get into our engines and fine tweak them to max potential, or are we doomd to wrestling with our ECU's and trying to monkey with the A/F ratio and thats about all she wrote?

I've heard custom built ECUs from back in the days.. I'm sure its possible, just the R&D factor..

well, since I know absolutely nothing about this kinda stuff, how does one go about finding someone to do a custom ECU? I mean, its not like Fred's ECU-hijacking Service is something you find in the yellowpages
Do we approach someone like a ZPI/Dezod or whoever and say hey, get cracking? Are they already working on this angle? Do we hassle a traditionally Honda-oriented aftermarket company with our desire?

Yeah, could you imagine the possibilities if we can actually work the ECU to it's potential like Honda.
From all aspects of fuel and engine management to electronic shifting for the automatic guys.

It's plenty hard. Toyota has never released (well at least for the past decade) the ECU codes. The only solution thus far has been bandaid solutions dealing with piggy backs or complete stand-alone ECU swaps. Only TRD has ever made a reflash for any Toyco ECU.
