Default Turbo charging a Scion tC 2010..

Hey guys so I'm new to this but I'm looking to turbo charge my Scion tC 2010 with stock internals except I will be upgrading my clutch but I need advice.
Like I said I'm new to the Forced Induction topic and all that so I'm just looking for a good place to start.

But what kind of turbo kits are out there that can give me the most Whp?
And what kind of clutch should I look into getting also?

Not many people are here anymore, but best clutch is a Sprung 6 Puck clutch (4 Puck is OK). Turbo (I'm doing this now ) is one that uses a T3/T4 Hybrid turbo front mount inter-cooler and injectors around 500 cc (I'm using 525 cc just a little big). Don't be fooled into piggybacks computers. DO get a AEM AFR Gauge.
You better know someone who can cut and weld or forget it. But I have this and the car is an animal! I laid 80 feet of burn out with an automatic today. I might need to get a Limited Slip very soon. Also the brakes suck so if you build real power plan to get stainless lines and rotor upgrades. Oh I'm running about 10 psi
the AFR drops down into the 10's I'm going to try to increase the boost to 13 and see if it's close, if not i need smaller injectors. Better have good Skilled friends!

Hey bud, I'm on a new OEM clutch, and at 10 Psi its holding up very good. Obviously there's better out there. Keep in mind, all the kits available for our cars are very high priced at around $4K.
I was able to DIY my own kit, (and while my kit does not have the benefit of all the R&D that went into engineering these beautiful kits) I was able to do it for around $600 including Engine Management.

How did you accomplished that for only $600?? Did you fab everything yourself? In February I'm going to boost my TC and its hard to stay under 1500. Any tips for newbies? (I work on diesel trucks but I have never messed around with installing turbos on vehicles that didn't come out of factory with it)

well had this running for about two months as a daily driver. yep learned something REAL important stock toyota pistons won't take 14 psi i broke all the lands between the rings, so $1500 later i have wiseco forged pistons, k1 h beam rods, arp head studs and cometic a headgasket. ok good for about 20-25psi (needs valve springs above that). nope at 18 psi i think we blew out the intake manifold gaskets still checking.
all tubing was fabed myself , intercooler from a friend, ebay cast manifold, ebay t3/t4 turbo and 550cc injectors from a friend that were laying around, the stock ecu is amazing it relearns the afr in about 5 mins. keeps it steady at 14-15 normal driving and under boost drops into the low 12's
at the minimum the best investment is the pistons
good luck

Wait, are you running a piggyback on this along with the stock ecu or the stock ecu only? I thought they would need piggybacks when running a turbo.

Dang! 10psi on stock ecu? Didn’t know it could do that much, but okay I got it. How’s the idle? Does power curve also hit well? Also we’re you running 550cc injectors as well? Any fuel pump changes? I’ve been trying so hard to look for a AEM FIC (or any other piggyback with available harnesses/wiring diagrams and they’re impossible to find nowadays If you have anybody you now offering any piggybacks I would greatly appreciate it as well.

Also I replaced the 5 speed trans on my tc recently…should’ve gotten the e351 instead!

no I'm running 14psi on 525cc injectors on stock ecu . idle is fine at idle its afr is 14.7(stock). This thing is disgusting fast but better build the block. Also gave up on Ebay turbos and bought a turbonetics . Stock fuel pump but change it, their cheap

Wow, that’s crazy. I don’t hear anyone here running a turbo with just the stock ecu…I was wondering where you put your MAF sensor to get the correct air readings. Also where should I mount the AFR gauge on the exhaust system?

So you’re saying the maf is located in the 3in intake pipe and used a Cummins 3in to 2.5 to bolt into the throttle body? Sorry I’m confused..
