ok, turns out i'm not going to the dealership today. apparently i can't touch my car while it's on their property unless the tech is with me (liability issue). i can understand that i guess. they promised me that it will be the first thing the master tech does tomorrow. i'm calling them around 8:45am to get a status.. i would try to go in and be there doing it with him, but it's about a half hour drive and if that's not the problem, that's a huge waste of time/gas. plus i'm sure as a master tech he at least knows how to put in new spark plugs and turn an MAF sensor 180 degrees. updates will have to wait until tomorrow morning i guess.

x2. few days without progress, i would have taken it back and work on it.. And did you talk w/ the dealership how much they charge.. they might charge you days of labor and kept the car there for a bit without progress. and that performance shop does crappy job, after taking the responsibility of installing the turbo which they are incompetent they cant help you get your car running again, not any help at least but just to say to you need another 1K to put it back? thats messed up man, I can feel the pain you're having in that.. well goodluck for tomrow

thanks man. as for toyota charging me for keeping the car there, there's really no way i'd ever agree to pay them. the whole reason they've taken so long on this is b/c they've been busy with other cars that get brought in on a daily basis. my car just stays parked the parking lot. i'm sure i'll get charged something small (if even that) but if they try to charge me for days of labor i will speak to the dealership manager and then to Scion corporate if i have to, because they technically haven't even done anything to the car. it's just been sitting there. sure, they've "looked" under the hood a few times, but they haven't fixed anything or put any new parts into it, so charging me more than a nominal fee would be ridiculous. i think they understand that, which is again why they aren't getting around to doing the 10 minute MAF and spark plug swap until tomorrow morning when no other customers are really there. at least that's what i'm hoping.

as for the performance shop, yeah they just flat-out suck. no support from them whatsoever. "well if you want us to look at it we'll have to charge labor" "well if you want to go back to stock it'll be the same as the install price" "well we're ___s"

haha i haven't been able to sleep in for the past week and a half due to classes and visits to the shop/dealership, so hopefully i'll be able to. plus in all honesty i try not to get my hopes up anymore lol... not because i don't have faith that what you and dave hypothesized is the problem... moreso just because i've spent 2 weeks troubleshooting with no success, but lots of times where i thought i had figured it out hah

ill take ur turbo kit off and put it back on the right way in front of them and laugh while im doin it. then tell them "HEY DUMBASS! THIS IS HOW YOURE SUPPOSED TO DO IT YOU DIP ****!!!!"

 

lmao. everyone should just fly down to jax and we should have a cookout in front of the dealership and install everything right in front of everyone since apparently it's impossible to get a turbo kit running in jacksonville nowadays

lol i actually got yelled at for installing a CAI in a dealer parking lot during one of their car shows. it was for a club member of the club im actually not a part of anymore, but the service manager came out yelling at me it was so funny. he was like "STOP WAHT YOUR DOING RIGHT NOW!" i simply replied (being a smart ___) "but if i stop now the car wont run and she sure as hell isnt gonna pay YOU to fix this"
