if you dont coat it it will oxidize...youll have to polish it up every week to maintain it...trust me...well then again its a little dryer where your at isnt it ace? i give it two weeks then....lol

 

^^ so should i go ahead and clear coat it? what should i use? i though the clear engine enamel didnt work out good

 

on my engine cover it turned a slight yellow, iv used it on my nissan valve cover and didnt have any problems with it...the only diff is on the nissan i had a base coat of red engine enamel and a second coat of clear....i wonder if i didnt apply enough coats on it....if it doesnt work out it can be cleaned off with turpentine.

 

So im making progress on modifying my stock heatshield to work with my setup.. all i need now is to figure out how to mount it..

 

so hows the polish on the valve cover holding up...lol...every time it rains mine gets totally effed...lol

polish is still there not as shiney.. i would definetely polish the heatshield lol, its not as bad as the valve cover.. but hey how bout some ideas how to mount the heatshield?

prolly need to weld some nuts to the mani and use short bolts to bolt the shield to the mani...

 

haha i like the bolts on the mani idea, it just wont make the mani as pretty.. i want something that easily gets removed for beauty contests bahahahaha.. im thinking of a bracket i can attach using the bolts on the valve cover

 

well then ther ya go...prolly want to weld two tabs up top that will bolt onto the manifold head studs...problem is the head studs arent that long and youll need to replace em with longer ones...on the bottom side you could weld on a large wormdrive clamp and just clamp it around the turbo to mani flange...or again you could weld tabs that will bolt onto the turbo to mani flange...and of course again youll need longer bolts...

So went to the race track today.. my times sucked but it was fun doing tuning one each run until my right axle broked

Main problem with my runs was on launch, my launch control settings needs to be tweaked, i keep stalling if i throttle too much... then my all summer tire that almost looks like slicks kept me spinning in place lol.. tweaked my tune on each run, the best launch on my 4th run but my axle popped sfhiting to second.. it just calls me to get built ones.. but i need cheap ones for now

but on the other note what you could do is try to make brackets from the valve cover bolts to the heat shield(the 3 bolts on the valve cover) maybe you can make some custom brackets(kinda like L brackets) from those and drill them onto the heat shield..but make it all pretty lol ...idk just throwing u some ideas

and u can paint it the 2000 degrees engine paint(flat black)

 

idk ace i havnt broken an axle yet, im sure if you can i will soon enough

 

I need something stronger than the oem ones lol.. i wasnt even on slicks lol.. the pop was scary though, revved it like 3 times and the engine sounds good w/ good oil pressure i know then it was an axle

 

That sucks, mang. The worst part about turbo'ing NA FWD cars is the freakin axles going.
