You never heard me come out of a shop with paid for dyno tune and not be tuned. In order to be defensive, your car has to work...imo...

I wasn't being overly critical was I? My bad...didn't mean too.

PS....My Tunes were free...

i've paid for the tune, but i haven't gotten yet, car is just street tuned.

as for the overheating. the stock fans and shroud are too close to the turbo and downpipe for comfort, so they'll get melted.

the weak-@$$ slim fans todd sent me are garbage. they come on, water temp still goes up, they kick off, and then kick on again, nothing is gettin cooled. there were two fans in front of the car, one big one, and one small one. the car would get up to 230 degrees, so they had to let it cool between runs, so we street tuned it.

annoyingly, they can't take me tomorrow, i didn't really make an appointment, i just emailed them saying the parts will arrive wednesday, i'll be in thursday for the install. so monday the car goes in. at least i have the 9th annual UPS car show this saturday!

i don't wanna go back to stock, i just don't want all the EVAP codes coming up. should be able to have a return fuel system and not have codes.

I would think that aslong as your not going to a higher pressure it should be good...idk though....it just seems that the entire fuel system sensors are based off of pressure and not flow...dont quote me on that, it just seemed that way to me.

you need to put your new radiator and shroud on! you still have your stock fans and shroud and todd's fans mounted in front of the ac condenser? any fans you mount as pushers wont be too efficient no matter how much cfm they push.. todds fans prolly flows as much air as mishimoto, and they shouldnt have anything to do with switching on and off..

drax get some turbo blanket and wrap for your downpipe and leave your stock fans where they are..

yeah, finally got clarification on why i was pushed back to monday, the tuner wasn't it. but spoke to them today, car will go in monday for radiator, trouble shoot the fuel system for the evap leaks, and tuning.

as for the turbo blanket, what kind of turbo blanket do i need? a t4 blanket? the hot side of the turbo and the downpipe are HPC coated, but i guess they're still hot. the slim fans todd sent me are puller fans i believe, they are between the turbo and the radiator.

well, i wasn't sure what the footing was, it is a gt3071r and whenever i see turbo specs, they say "t3/t4" footed, so i wasn't sure if which one i needed. so i'm guessing i need a t3 blanket then. super.

Okay.. yeah you have a T3 hotside with a T4 compressor. Get the blanket - and you can also get some exhaust wrap.

yeah get a t3 turbo blanket.. I have same turbo and the t3 blanket still has a good space inside..

you can wrap section of your downpipe with same material i used as a manifold blanket, thats what I did.. that thing is great insulating heat, I think its better than the usual exhaust wraps you see around

Rooting for you man. I haven't been on here in a minute..but just finished reading the install/tuning "saga." I'm glad people have been supportive and are really trying to help out. I'm eager to see how the tuning day goes. You've done an excellent job on keeping your head up thus far man. Props and stick with it.

thanks everybody. just dropped the car off with everything in it. they said they're going to try and tune the TRD ECU, but if that dead ends, they'll use the junkyard ecu i gave them. now it is just another waiting game. i gave them several days. time to go back to bed...
