Do you have to have it? Why not just wait till it's completely done?

i can, i just feel like such a bum getting rides from friends, family and co-workers. and i just feel empty without. so yeah, i really need it.

but actually, i called them to see if they street tuned, the shop decided they didn't want to release the car yet as they would be liable if it blows up and such, so they're keeping it until monday for tuning, sigh...soooooooo damn close!

but the good news is everything is installed and on the car, done done done. they were putting coolant in it, and it idled find and revved up to 3000 rpms without breaking up to badly they said. (just warming it up to get the air bubbles through the coolant lines.

so my tC is officially turbocharged now, all the hardware is installed, tomorrow me and kanundrum are going to check it out and take pictures of it for everybody i suppose. damn...i predict another sleepless night tonight.

drax,

are you keeping your TRD re-flashed ECU from when you were S/C?

yes, cuz i didn't want to go through the trouble of trying to reflash the ecu back to stock settings, and i didn't want to swap ECU's with a non-reflashed ecu since the mileage would be wrong.

now, i've heard it both ways, paul at dezod, and todd told me that they have tuned trd reflashed ecu's with issues, whereas some people with trd reflashed ecu's said that they are harder to have tuned because once the car sees boost it pulls timing like crazy, but that doesn't make complete sense since the ecu doesn't see boost, just MAF sensor readings. so come monday we'll see.

if the ecu is harder to tune with the aem f/ic, and i fall short of my power goals, i'll look into a standalone like the aem or the one that dezod is working on. and then go back for a retune.

just got back from the altered atmosphere with kanundrum. i have to say, they have done an awesome job. in addition to everything else, they tucked all the wires for the injectors, and wires for the gauge cluster, and because my factory engine cover won't fit, they're custom making me an engine cover for me. going to be painted black and have an AAM badge on it. the car looks amazing, dirty, but amazing. they ran the fuel line along with the factory lines so they won't snag or anything. the custom built flex pipe/s-pipe is well made and insulated too! the car is just incredible looking. for those who had doubts about altered atmosphere i hope to dispel them thusly, stay tuned for pics, had to use my cellphone, but they took some high res pics at the shopt that they'll send me.

i'll have to check, don't know why the valve cover won't fit, but hey, custom valve cover always rocks, it might have to do with the fuel rail getting in the way maybe? i'll double check on monday, but hey, it is free and custom made, why complain?

as for tuning, yeah, that is the scary part, i told them i've heard mixed reviews, and they told me how only time a car truly blew up on the dyno, it was an acura nsx, and they owner actually flew a tuner in from california, and they were pretty much just renting the dyno by the hour, and he blew the car up, not them, but it did happen on their dyno. oh well.
