Us Nitrous Guys
I have the NOS kit, i would go with the wet kit it safer then the dry and if you going to run a 75 shot on the tc motor, the wet would be the best way to go, if you going to run a dry kit on 75, new injectors would probly be needed if you dont want to blow anything, with nitrous the more fuel you use the safer you are, fuel is the key to nitrous. If you dont have enough fuel dunpping out when ur srapying your going to blow your engine up

sorta like what happened @ scion exposed 2.0 in miami. there was a guy that had his car burn due to a nitrous backfire.
if you take care and you're smart about it though, you're not going tohave problems.

hmmm think in need to get a dyno video with a 100shot. and about spraying in 3rd... yeah, doesn't really do any good with the gearing. Run best times spraying about 4500k rpm's in 2nd... minimizes spin. got frisky and got into it with a talon tsi and knew i was gonna get my A$$ handed to me so i bumped a 100 in first.. really didn't help much.. like .006 better on the 60' time ended up slowing me down in the long run. btw, off topic but anyone else running a full custom exhaust with their nitrous ( header straight to the a A$$)?

Based on my exp with nitrous which goes back about 10 years with NX and before that NOS -
Nitrous is TORQUE. The sooner you use it, the quicker your car will go. Nitrous without progressive control is a linear power increase, which means it doesn't adjust for additional RPM where the engine and safely injest more nitrous than at an lower RPM.
That means you make less power later in the power band than early.
You also get less torque mulpitcation with 3rd gear than 2nd gear, so your ET's will suffer.
If you want to really SOLVE your traction problems, get a progressive controller.
It will produce a faster time than a 2 stage no progressive system and running 100hp is NO PROBLEM, save you'll need a clutch and to keep backpressure in check, you'll need to upgrade the exhaust system from the exhaust ports back.
75hp shot on our cars (mine, not yours) is worth about 90hp... Some of that is nitrous, some of it is the additional boost increase from turbo being able to force more air into the engine and increased in exhaust energy.
Holla...

Go with the ZEX Wet Kit and you'll be just fine... direct port is much mroe difficult to setup and tune.... there are a few, including mine, good resources to talk about the Nitrous setup and prices/warnings and such.
For Stock Engines, you do not need direct port. That's a wives tale started by NOS because their old fogger nozzles were not designed to be used in a dry manifold enivorment. Hense the reason for designing the dry nitrous sytems in the mid 80's...
Newer designs shear the fuel and nitrous mixture making it much finer than before and you don't get puddling. So its not an issue anymore.
You can safely on a non-progressive setup use half the engines output at the crank. That would mean 70hp. But 75hp is more than safe enough. I have personally gone up to 150hp single nozzle, no issues on 4 cylinder cars.
The highest I would go if you had a good header and cat-back exhaust system is 100-125hp shot on a dead stock engine. But you need to use a progressive control system to bring the nitrous in a smooth gradule (sp) fashion.
Believe me it works... There's no reason you can't run high 12's with a Scion tC with nitrous and you won't blow anything up doing it.

Just follow the directions that come with the kit. Generally one range colder than stock is recommended by kit makers. You stock plugs should be plenty for a 50hp shot, as your only increase your octane from 87 to 91-93 depending on where you live.
Yes Copper plugs only, they are dirt cheap and no reason to go to an exotic plug, you won't pick up anything.
The best thing you can do with nitrous is open up your exhaust system and put some sticky tires on your car. You need to traction because you'll have none and you'll need to relieve some backpressure created by adding 50-75hp extra to your car.
Get a BOTTLE HEATER. Its a worthwhile investment and shows your serious about getting the most of your nitrous kit. As fall and later winter moves in you need to have your bottle pressure ABOVE 90 degree to lean out the mixture enough. You want nitrous in its semi-liquid/gassous state when you inject it and that happens around 900psi, but that's still overally rich in most combinations. I have run kits between 1,000 and 1,200 depending on weather and track conditions, but that is not for novice users.
I HIGHLY recommend a progressive controller or ZEX's new nitrous switch that combinds a TPS sensor trigger with RPM switches and a 1st gear lock out feature that doesn't allow the nitrous to trigger in 1st gear, leaving 2nd gear where you tend t get most of your traction and less gear multipcation.
Email me directly if you have any other questions.

So my kit is being installed today and I should be able to dyno it if the dyno guys show up tomorrow at Strictly Scions. I'll post results tomorrow hopefully! This will be with a 55 shot and my profile mods.
