Default WRX turbo on tc

So, at my local machine shop there is a WRX turbo that they are willing to sell me for cheap. Does anyone know if it can be made to work on the tC? Anyone know maybe how?

What is the price they offer?
Other will say don't waste your money on that turbo just buy a t3/t4 57 trim which is more capable and newer.

If you don't have the money to do things right, dont do them at all.

You'll need a tune, engine management system, injectors, fuel pump, and plenty of other things.

You don't just "bolt a turbo on" and be done with it. There is a reason that tuner/complete turbo kits cost a good bit of money - and a used turbo for a WRX isn't what you should be putting on your car.

If you owned a WRX and needed a backup turbo, thats when this "deal" would work. Aside from that, I'd bet it turns into a $300 paper weight for you. You still need all the piping, intercooler, brackets, manifold and so much more.

If I were you, I would pass, and not think twice on it man.

Just get the tuner kit from Dezod and for now you can buy my Unichip (came with Turbonetics kit) for $300 and call it a day. Or find a used kit.. don't skimp out on a wimpy WRX turbo.

A used turbo is always going to be hit or miss.

That said, any cost you save on the $300 turbo will have to be put back into a custom manifold, custom downpipe, and then the tuning software, injectors fuel rail, labor....

Check out the MightyCarMods youtube channel. Those two put a Subaru Forester turbo into an MX-5. Anything can be done with enough money and the right friends.
