Default ALPINE CDA 9887WITH IMPRINT SOUND EQ

I havent seen any threads about this radio so i guess im the first one to install this brand new cda 9887 imprint headunit. ive been waiting for this all year and it is by far the best alpine head unit ever made. here are some pics of what it looks like

I just tuned my radio with the ktx 100 eq add on module
This is by far the best thing ever!!! it just takes all the guess work and all the hassle of tuning your radio. This EQ compliments the CDA 9887 and its worth every penny. Plug and play right into the front of the radio without the faceplate on. The only thing i had to do was play with the gain settings on both of my amps to get my favorite sound of heavy bass and crystal clear highs WOW! what a difference and i thought my settings were good without the mulltieq. You will need a camera tripod if you dont have one so that you can set up the mic that comes with this EQ at ear level on each seat front and back. It takes about an hour to complete so make sure you turn off every light in the car so that you dont kill your battery i didnt have that problem because i have a 20farad cap. I never thought that music could sound so great at every seat in the car this is what this EQ does it tunes your radio according to the acoustics in your car. take my word for it buy this item you wont regret it...

it is a nice unit. Only upgrade is the 24bit dac and ability to use the external eq talpine plans to sell, but the exact same bass engine pro as found in the 9835/9855 series. On another forum we are waiting form some detialed test results as this looks to be the first decent single din headunit alpine has produced since 2004

I love my Alpine but they had some catching up to do. Looks like they did it w/ this unit. Now they just need to integrate some of their add-ons.

Ya that was good. HD and bluetooth should be standard though. I'm surprised they didn't add bluetooth. Would have matched up perfectly with Pioneer's DEH-P980BT.

Alpine is slowly getting back to where they used to be in my opinion. The last model year that I think was any good was the year the model year that included the cda-9815. After that yeah they started going down hill. That 24 bit D/A is a nice step though!

The one thing that I disappointed to see about that deck when I just looked at the specs is that it is not a non-clipping deck like the 9815 was being that it is in the same price point. I am interested to hear how this Imprint tech works. Never been a big fan of auto adjustment of settings.

Don't get me wrong it looks like a great deck!

i will go ahead and keep my 9813.... besides the text being rubbed off of a few buttons... thing runs like a champ and has been in all of my cars that I've owned... even survived the flip in my mustang lol.

only thing i wish it had was the ability to change the color of the buttons.. oh well.

Are you sure this one isn't non-clipping?

well the specs on alpines site says "Pre Output Voltage (Before Clipping): 4V" so I would say that it will clip.

I would assume they would say "non clipping output" if it didn't clip.

For example my 9815 lowers the output so it will not clip if you crank the eq.
