Amp getting power and remote, but not working... help
Ok, so basically one day my amp quit working. I just thought it overheated or whatever and was just turning itself off for the time being.... wrong.
So yesterday I went in and tore everything apart to get to the amp, first off none of the fuses are blown, the inline is still in tact and so is the plug in the side of the amp.
So first I found a different place to ground my amp to... its not grounded to the bottom of my shifter bracket, which should be fine.
Next was the power wire, I decided to experiment with the power line, so I took the inline fuse out and just had a straight power cable coming off the battery. I did this and the amp turned on... yea... ok.. odd. So I was just going to leave it like this for the time being until I could make my way down to a shop and get a new fuse. So I disconnected the power cable from the battery so the amp was dead. I went to hook it back up and nothing.
Now it wont do anything.... any ideas? Its a directed audio 350d I believe. It worked great... until now.
Should I just redo the power, ground, and remote and hope for the best?

Well one hooking power straight to the amp was kind of the wrong move... Spike and boom..
As for the amp working but not working... you may have just messed up some resirotrs or somthing... Also check your cables for the speakers.. or sub.
Another thing is... ground needs to be a good ground to a clean area of paint bolted down... Amp may come on but if it dont have a good ground it wont be good.

i have kind of a similar problem maybe someone here can help, my amp goes off but only after a i put the stock hu volume above 30 and it just stops im seem to be losing voltage and my rca adapter. is it the hu? or my amp? i dont know
CHECK YOUR GROUND!
Not with a multi-meter either. - there isn't a very big load with a multi meter. -certainly not as much as your going to put through an 8,4,2,or 1/0 gague cable.
i cannot emphazise enough the importance of ground.
I beleive that is where your problem may be.

well you said that it worked ran you ran a straight cable to the amp and didnt use the inline Right ?? there is your problem right there probably ...try gettin another inline ...best buy has rockford ones, which seem to be the best from the local stores...or go to edesignsaudio.com and grab one from those guys
ok, if it worked for a year, then it's probably not your ground. You doidn't happen to run your powerwire through sopt that gets pinched did you? Like a door jam? Or your hood. Or something else rediculous like that?-------or your seats! Check the cable there! Test the whold legnth of the cable with a multimeter.also test the fuse. this will let ya know where the problem is.
If you don't already have one, then don't get one. If you don't have a reason to own one by now, then this is probably the only time you'll use it. Try to borrow one from a friend. Anybody that does electronics, or electrical will have one.
O, and if you don't have one, then you paobably don't know how to use one either. Just ask you friend to test the wire, and the fuse.
