Default amp was on for a min or two, now its dead???

HELP!

So, I installed my amp and sub in my 06 tC exactly like I have in my last 3 cars, with
the exception of one of those Rockford Install Edge RCA out add on
things to the stock hu. I had it running fine for about two minutes and the
amp cut out as I was fine tuning it. Absolutely no power. All the fuses are
fine, everything looks good but the thing is completely dead.
What's odd (to me anyways) is that when I first connected the hu no
sound could be heard yet the hu seemed to function perfectly other wise
and the power would only switch on and off when the car was turned on
and/or off but not when the hu was powered on and off. To trouble
shoot this I connected my old kenwood hu, it worked fine, amp, sub and
all. Then I reconnect the oem hu and I've got sound and bass for two
minutes, and now my current problem with the dead amp???

Any light anyone can shed would be greatly welcomed

TIA!

the ground most likely, if you didn't sand the metal before attachying your ground to it its most likely not getting a good connection. Disconnect your ground from wherever its connected (probably the bottom of your trunk) get some sandpaper/wirebrush/knife whatever and scrape that ____ down to the metal where you are connecting it. reconnect and get back to me.

It worked, I messed around with it for a while, got it all set up, shut off the car and went inside ... I came back out to put in a better cd maybe and hour and a half - two hours later and its not coming on again. ???
