Avic D3 Installed
Phanon TC... THANK YOU. that wasnt hard at all. ive never had to do steering wheel controls before so it just seemed a little scary... got in there and it all made sense! god, i love this thing!
I have a similar Pioneer TV in my TC and im hooking up the AVIC-88DVD nav system but i dont know where to hook up the speed sensor. Is it really hooked up to the HVAC and how did you get a nice border around your tv? I could not fit the plastic border they sent around my tv so you can kind of see behind it.
hey did you by any chance have to by new housing so there were no gaps for the Avic-D3? you know like how you normally would by custom housing for headunits so they would fit in different cars with different consoles.
u buy the kit.. as posted above.. the metra (95-8202) kit to fill in the gaps

Ok i installed my D3 like few days ago. Love it but dont like the way u cant change the present channel on the FM radio. I dont know if i cant change the settings somehow. The problem is that when i have my navigation on wit the radio playing i want to change the station. So i press >>l, for it to change to the next programed station but instead it SEEKS to 100.3>100.5>100.7> and so on. How do i make it change by presents saved when pressing >>l or l<< ???
I know that i can just go back to the AV radio menu and manualy press the up or down arrow to change station, but i want the buttons to change it .

ecu is locked behind the glove box, it is to the right of your heater core, and it is mounted verticaly. there are five connectors plugged into it, There are two at the top, then there there is a blank there 3 more. The speed sensor is the in the second connector at the top, and it is the purple wire... it is the only purple wire in that connector. Total install took me 1 hour..... the hardest part was modding the radio door so i can keep it.... the **** on the unit hits the door.
taking the rca cable and moving the mute (yellow/black wire) from its original pin location. Moving it to the pin above and grounding it along with the ebrake wire to ground. Bypassing it allows you to watch videos and change poi's on nav while your driving. Otherwise you must be parked and have the ebrake on.
for future reference, i didn't drill to get my radio door to close. i dremelled out the inner part of the door where the volume **** is and it closes perfectly. i did this cuz it seemed easier and i didn't want my unit to be more recessed in than it already is.
hey phanon i saw you on avic411, any confirmation if you the movies on the ipod on a play list then you can control it from the HU? also, have you tried putting divx movies on a dvd? how does the nav work for that? thanks in advance!
