It all depends on how much coin you want to spend. I mean if you want insane sound and are doing a single din deck, do the following set up, 6.5" comp Front doors, 6.5" comps rear, Center Channel Speaker under HU. As far as the best speakers in my opinion nothing beats JL ZR Components just the most amazing crisp highs and awsome mids. They are axpensive as hell, if your own a bugget build Eclipse SC-6500 components are also great its actually what I'm running right now. don't work at the audio shop any more so speaker discounts are a thing of the past for me =( But any system questions you have or if you need more prodcut info on other speakers go ahead and PM I was worked for Ultimate Car Toys in Dublin, CA for 3 years until he went belly up and then I worked for JL Audio and Eclipse in distribution sales for 2 years so my knowledge is vast when it comes down to it, just economy sucks so bad I wanted out of the industry

Focal has become over rated and their speakers are nowhere near as good as they were 5 years ago.

you gotta do it big like me! 2 pairs of component MB quart speakers, thats 4 tweetlers and 4 mids, the rear is custom fitted and the rear tweeters aim to the middle-front of the driver and passenger side. very high clarity and on top of that the mid speakers heavily produce clean mids, like deep TRANSFORMERS movie sound effects. the HIGH tweeters are unhealthly mad high for my ears along with my panasonic HU. only problem is having 2 components will only produce clear and loud HIGH and MID sounds ONLY, you'll have to rely on your subwoofer for the bass/low bass quality. i got a hifonics 12inch sub only pushing 600watts; my sub could be better, but my previous sub blew out which was the best sounding sub i ever had (fatboy2).

the best speakers out there are 700-1k dollar "component" speakers. but for our cars, replace the components on the front and get 2,3,4 way speakers for the rear is typical, i had that setup with 2 ways on the back, but i very disliked the sound, the 2way speakers sound was kinda throwing off my components, especially the bass. as result got 2matching MB quarts components instead.
