Default Componant Speakers

Its about time I do my audio set up in the car. Here is the deal, ive been installing audio systems for a couple years now in my free time but when it comes to higher end brands specifications and so forth im lost.

I'm looking for very good components to run in the tC amped. Ive been looking into CDT online and also the new ED e9.65i's, definitely open to other options but I want to keep it under 300 for sure just for the speakers.

If anyone has advice or input please I would like to know, also where to purchase CDT products online.

Just want to do a install on the front doors only and keep the rear empty so the best bang for the buck is what im looking for

The best bang for the buck.... I'd suggest Phoenix gold RSD's.

For under $300.......what type of music you listen to........and how do you like the sound,do you want lots of midbass, lots of treble out of the tweeters,do you like the laidback sound,or the inyour face vocals and such.......also what you running for amps and subs, this also helps to get a system taht will work together......

check out this comparison review from ctuchfield:

http://www.crutchfield.com/learn/rev...oundtable.html

the infinity kappa perfects were the best all around, but not the best in each music category. so like BZinn1 said, it's really your music preferences that are going to determine what set of component speakers you should buy.

Exactly.......my eD 6000s are awsome comps, lots of midbass, clean vocals, and they take the power like crazy, but the tweeters for them suck......they are harsh, and even at -3db on the crossover and wired out of phase they are still in your face loud......changing out to a set of Seas this winter.

Where are you going to mount them? If you're serious about SQ, then build some kick panel enclosures. $300 speakers in the stock location is a waste of money imo, unless you implement appropriate delay on the driver's side, which ruins the sound for the passenger...if you care about that.

I'd rather have stock speakers in kick panels that the best $300 components in the stock door locations.

I listen to pretty much everything but country and techno...85-90 percent of the time its hip hop. The speakers should have great mid bass and vocals should pop when necessary nothing dramatic. I want it to be be complete front stage and not using backseat speakers at all. I was thinking the ed 9.65i + nine.2 + my avic d3

I want to put the tweeters in the kick panel or mount them somewhere more appropiate then the doors.

that will be a good set up,the tweeters in the 9.65s are not as harsh as the older ones........also an important part to the set up is sound deaden the doors,I got a layer of the liquid and then 2 layers of the .080 on the skin then a layer of it on the inner panel that the door panel goes on,door is mostly sealed up and the sound is a lot better midrange wise.

How should i go about cutting the holes for the tweeters in the kicks? Is there a rubber grommet supplied to go into the hole where the tweeter sits in?

I cannot remember waht exact size the hole for the tweeters are but I thouhgt it was 2",get a 2"hole cutting bit for a drill at home depot, bring the tweeter with you,it is going to make sense what size to get when you take the tweeter with you and size up the trim ring to the hole cutter bit.

then to cut the hole just attach cutter to drill and pick a spot, drill them not attached to the car and make sure the spot you pick to drill is not hindered from behind in the car......

I had one that is snug in the hole and the drivers side I had to epoxy it a bit to keep it snug....my drilling skills suck......lol

^Yes, 8awg is adequate for a single nine.2 putting out 100wpc into a 4 Ohm component set. However, it wouldn't be enough if you add another amp to power a sub, so you might consider going with 4awg instead.
