What choices do i have, id really like something that fits under the tC's radio door for security. i don't care so much for the flip out screens, but if the price is right i might get one (as long as its touch screen
flip screens wont fit the scion unless you take off the radio door.
it depends what you want. most of the touch screens i know of have come with navi / dvd / mp3 / cd ..
i have the AVN eclipse5435 for $999 awhile back, its either that or the pioneer
try a search on it? i think there are more but i cant remember any of them right now

well, after doing some reading, it seems a touch screen carputer is more what i want, i listen to mp3 for the most part and i have an old p3 700 laptop in my room collecting dust.
the pionner avic D2, Z1, then the DEH 6800dvd all fit from pioneer. i was thinking about doing a carputer too with my old laptop, if you're willing to do the work, it comes pretty cool
. good luck!
. good luck!
i'll be going with an eclipse avn 5435... the only drawback that i've heard with it is the mp3 playback times. but hey, i dont have an mp3 player, so thats not a big deal for me

*edit* i know pc sounds is really good with high end sound cards and such, but do you think id be taking a huge hit with sound quality from a old dell laptop?

it will work and im sure it will sound fine, but my f riend has an old dell also, as a DJ he uses his onboard sound card alot, and it burned out on him just about a month ago. so it will work, but just dont expect it to last forever.
and unless your an audiophile that demands the clearest sound, as long as you keep it about 70% into the amp, it shouldnt be too bad. you could get an external sound card
