Default Driver Seat won't Lock into Position..

I've had two different tC's, and both have had this problem. I had my seat all the way back because i had to sleep in my car, and when i woke up to drive home i tried to return it to it's normal position.
But the seat back would not lock, the handle acts like it is jammed. so I have to drive around propping myself up using my steering wheel and leaning hard on my center console to try to counter the fact that my back has no support.

Last time I swung by the dealership and the guy i know who works there had one of the mechanics take a quick look at it, and the guy fiddled with it and stuck his hand underneath the seat touching everything he could feel and he somehow fixed it,
but didn't know what he did to fix it he just did it accidentally. so i tried the same thing this time trying to trace the mechanism to see if i could find the problem but nothing has worked.

I took it to two Toyota service centers and both said i have to make an appointment cause they have to call in some upholstery guy to fix it, so i have an appointment for Wednesday at 10 but until then i have to drive with no back support.

Anyone else had any problems like this?

that seems weird, maybe when you slept on it, you put too much pressure on the seat back and caused it to jam up. lol just stick a pillow behind your back till u get it fixed.

happened to me too, easy fix...lay the seat all the way down flat and push down on it hard, you'll hear a click. Good as new, it'll work fine after.

I have a similar issue in that my seat is stuck. Will not move up or back. It is almost as if something is blocking the rail, but there is not.... Anyone have any input or relevent fixes?

theres probobally a penny or something stuck in the rail. take the seat out and remove the rails to see if you can get anything out.

I just had this happen to me. For two days I jammed everything in my Vehicle behind my seat to keep it in an upright position. I’ll leaned it the whole way back and kind of jumped on it While sitting down if you know what I mean. I heard the click and it was good as new
