Default Eclipse AVN2454 installed on 06 tC ***pix update***

Got it for $999.99 + tax at AUTOBACS, $100 for installation (3 years warranty)

Eclipse is the best, no mod required, use your stock harness, plug and play.
If you have 06 model, you won't lose the audio controlled steering wheel

Congrats on your new headunit .I have a 06 TC and I also have a avn2454 and a Pioneer D1. I acually like the D1 over the Eclipse. Yes the Eclipse plugs directly into the factory harness but you still have to connect the parking brake wire and the GPS antenna. Yes it plays DVD right out of the box unlike the D1 but that's all it has over the D1. How were they able to use the factory steering wheel buttons with the Eclipse? My buttons don't work with it installed. I use to hate the D1 because of the round botton switch, and the fact that it couldn't play DVD's out of the box but since I've had some seat time with both units. The Pioneer D1 owns the Eclipse 2454. I hooked up a external DVD player to the back up camera input. Now I can run the nav and watch dvd's at the same time. The Avn2454 can't do that, but i hear the new 54 series can. Like I said in the begining of my post . Congrats on your headunit and enjoy. If you could find out how they were able to use the steering wheel controls with that unit I would appreciate it.

Here's both my radios before the final installation of the Pioneer D1 which owns the Eclipse hands down.

It's pretty simple. Just add a small dvd player like I did. I mounted it inside the glove box. Wire it toi the rear camera input and set the radio for the rear camera map. everything works while you drive. If you want to input addresses while you drive just add a switch to the hand brake wire and switch it when you want to input addresses on the fly. Everything can be defeated if you know what to do. Pioneer D1 RULES

munch... i have been at EVERY freakin car shop in NJ trying to decide between pioneer eclipse and kenwood... that one picture is better than anything any of the sales reps DEMO'd for me... i would kiss one of your rather large butt cheeks right now, but i have a feeling they are neither as round or as voluptuous as they appear in your photo.

one last thing... how is the audio... considering you had both units, did u notice any difference between the eclipse 5v preout vs the pioneer 2v in terms of dynamic range? i have a uniform alpine type r setup with 2 10" subs and i was wondering if my audio would suffer.

oh yeah... imagine if you will... a world where traffic accidents are relayed to your car to re-route you down a short cut. You decide, however, to IGNORE the gps and STAY in traffic... WHY??? b/c you are down by 6 with 30 sec to go in the superbowl ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SCREEN!!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! MADDEN 06 in the glove box! the possibilities!!!!!! BEST BUY aint got nothing on ME!!!

No difference in sound at all. I ran the Eclipse headunit for 1 weeka dn the Pioneer afterwards to see which one I liked better. The Pioneer wins hands down. THe Eclipse will be up for sale very shortly because I have no need for it.
