Eclipse is the best, no mod required, use your stock harness, plug and play.
If you have 06 model, you won't lose the audio controlled steering wheel

Will post pics later.
Congrats on your new headunit .I have a 06 TC and I also have a avn2454 and a Pioneer D1. I acually like the D1 over the Eclipse. Yes the Eclipse plugs directly into the factory harness but you still have to connect the parking brake wire and the GPS antenna. Yes it plays DVD right out of the box unlike the D1 but that's all it has over the D1. How were they able to use the factory steering wheel buttons with the Eclipse? My buttons don't work with it installed. I use to hate the D1 because of the round botton switch, and the fact that it couldn't play DVD's out of the box but since I've had some seat time with both units. The Pioneer D1 owns the Eclipse 2454. I hooked up a external DVD player to the back up camera input. Now I can run the nav and watch dvd's at the same time. The Avn2454 can't do that, but i hear the new 54 series can. Like I said in the begining of my post . Congrats on your headunit and enjoy. If you could find out how they were able to use the steering wheel controls with that unit I would appreciate it.
Yep yep, the D1 is freaking awesome. . But

1st, $1000 = unbeatale for the AVN2454 ( made in JAPAN inside-out ;))
2nd, I STILL can use the steering wheel audio control (will ask the guy who installed how he did it).
3rd, I can run the nav and watch dvd's at the same time (w/ external DVD player as you said, just plug it in the RCA), plus I still have the rear camera input free (add it on later for $189 shipped, cheaper than the Pioneer for sure).

For the DVD on-the-go part, just ground the freaking wire, instead of the handbrake wire.

I only paid $1030 shipped for my Pioneer unit. You may like the Eclipse unit, but you are still stuck with the generic looking maps and corny looking menus that the Eclipse unit has. To me the Pioneer unti sounds alot better sound quality wise. Also the Pioneer has the Nav Traffic unit that you can add to get up to the moment traffic on your headunit. Can the Eclipse 2454 do that? The answer is NO. I have them both still and I will not go back to the Eclipse unit for anything in the world. Pioneer D1 rules.

I always search like a madman before I make a purchase. I never settle for the first price I see.

It's a regular switch but you will have to keep resetting it because it will still go into lockout every few seconds but you will have enough time to put an address in while driving.

ON your nav system. Is there any annoying thing you have to wait through everytime you turn your system on and off?

Cause I start my car on and off at least ten times a day going to different places?

Is there any thing like that, you know that's just quarky?
