Default ed sq10 rattle?

hey guys so i recently got my ed sq10 on friday 10/10 and finally installed it today.

and theres a rattle coming from the subwoofer itself. I tried my old speaker (alpine type S) and it worked fine, but when i tried my sq10, it rattled and sounded as if the speaker was blown or that the silver elemental designs plate is not glued on tight enough so its making that rattling sound. Its really bad.

can anyone help please!!

I've had a similar issue resembling what you're describing...The voice coil was actually off center.

Try gently pressing on the cone, the eD logo plate, and see if you can feel the wire coil rubbing against the magnet. That's what mine was doing.

Send it back under warranty, and make sure you fill out any description fields very accurately. All the forms you need should be on their website...and their customer service is good.

send it back. make sure you send it FedEx, NOT UPS! actually, their customer service sucks.

had a defective a defective subwoofer. sent it back (accidentally sent it UPS and not FedEx, but shouldn't matter right?). ED says that it was damaged durring shipping. Filed an insurance claim. UPS went and picked up the subwoofer to inspect. UPS didn't lable the package correctly so it sat in their warehouse. UPS goes, why do we have this random package? So they return it to ED. UPS again trys to pick up this damaged subwoofer, because they messed up the first time. ED says, uhh....we don't have it anymore (because they still thought that UPS had it). So UPS denys the insurance claim because ED didn't have a subwoofer to give them. ED says UPS has it. However I have signatures from ED that show it's at ED. So long story short, ED has a subwoofer of mine, refuses to give me a refund, and refuses to take any responsibility for the issue. horrible customer service. Will never buy from again!

thanks for the heads up man. I was planning on sending through UPS.

as for you situation thats bull man. The contract says that send it through anything except USPS. I was planning on sending it through UPS too! But it seems like terrible customer service on both sides

ed makes some good products, but they have had customer service issues in the past. Not too sure if that's changed, but there have been issues in the past.

so heres a continuation. I sent my speaker in Nov. 7 and its now Dec. 11 to the warranty department and I'm still left with no speaker. I've been in contact with them and they say that they found no problems with the speaker and will continue tests. Also, they say that I have to pay return shipping.

honesty I feel ____ed. I just spent $20 bucks shipping it to them insured, the least they can do is ship it back to me for free for making me wait this long.

make sure they don't just send you back the same speaker you sent them. demand a new one. check the fine print on their warranty to see if it says anything about paying for shipping.
