Default Gromet to get from engine to interior?

i know this is a noob question.. and honestly i dont really make threads, or even ask noob questions but this will be my first.

i am wiring up a lil project, and i need to know how do i get from the engine bay into the driver side interior.. the wire is really tiny so its not a real problem.. but i just dont know where to look.

also, another question is...

the thing comes with black and red wiring.. it says that the black has to be wired to the chassis and the red is positive so i know where that goes.

however.. can i just wire the negative to the negative terminal on the battery, because im going to wire the positive to the positive terminal to the positive terminal.

thanks for the help.. and if you wanna flame, at least try to help before you do

to get into the drivers side interior, there is a small black boot around the clutch i believe if your a 5spd and aroud the brake if your a auto (i think i have a 5 spd) but anyway just pull on the boot and its made of rubber and should already have wires runnning through it, and its a direct passage to the engine bay just have someone with a flashlight looking for the wire when it comes out. I stuck a 4awg wire through there so im sure your wire will fit no problem, as for your black ground issue, i would just ground it to the chassis just in case it decides to slip up and maybe touch the positive terminal that would be a bad thing rather be safe than sorry

i know in the engine shot you can't actually see the grommet, but just follow where the blue and red wires are going and you'll see it. As for the interior shot, the grommet is about a foot above the area between the gas and the brake pedal in a 5spd. you can see i have a couple of wires through mine ;)

as for grounding stuff out, you don't need to run a wire all the way back to the battery. Just get a ring terminal and find a bolt that goes into the frame and you'll be good to go. It's a waste of wire to run all the way back (let alone it's a PITA). There's bolts all over the place, you just have to take out some panels to find them.
