Hidden Slim 10" box..updated with it's evil twin and am
Golden86, what carpeting did you use to cover the floor cover??? im looking to make a slim "false" floor cover out of 1/2" mdf but dont know what to cover it with, possibly the cargo mat but i am looking for a cheaper alternative...any suggestions??
I was looking for WEEKS on end to find something close to the factory carpet. The place that I least expected it... WAL MART in the auto's section. It comes in 6'x3' rolls, and costs about $7,
It is actually cut pile carpet that matches the carpet on the floor perfectly, but the trunk has a little bit of a charcoal color to it. It still blends in very nicely, and everybody I show the car to thinks its factory carpeting.

its too heavy and there are slight gaps by each wheel well...i used the stock floor cover as my template but it still doesnt fit right...
what material did you make yours out of?? cause the MDF didnt work as i wanted
for the whole cutouts, it looks like you cut the whole competly out and just has the carpeting over the top of it...
and how did you get it to "fold" up like the stock cover...i bought hinges to do mine but it seems like its unnecessary to use them....
sorry for all the questions but i need to get some solutions...

The cutouts are all the way through, but on the top of it I first glassed in some door screen so things wont fall through it. I then covered it with the carpet.
I tried hinges too, but it didn't work out. So I went and found this cloth backed adhesive (like a very heavy duty duct tape) It works like a charm, and should never wear out from daily use.

Yea, I ordered my box at the end of december and I still don't have it. The SQ10 itself came quick so I am just missing a box to mount the sub. Was told they would ship out last week, but apparently that didnt happen. Called and will probably ship out next week. Probably a good thing I ll be out of town so I wont be frustrated in my subless car
The joys of having the guy in the woodshop stop coming to work the day I get back from Miami...followed up an electrical upgrade in the woodshop that stopped the CNC for a week...followed by CES.
Now we have a new guy hired and all of them ordered should be out of here by next Friday. I think 7 are in the paint booth now.

For those of you that are lazy you can use a rotary tool (dremel) to zip out the foam cutouts to hold your tools on the remaining foam piece with the jack. I placed the items on the foam using golden86's pix as reference then traced the outlines with a box cutter. Then I used the brown sanding bit (shaped like a cylinder) to act as a router to remove the foam. Use a butter knife to remove the melted bits of foam that build-up.

Hopefully you see my hidden amp, I've never posted a pic b4 Wasn't too difficult, but finding an amp that was skinny enough to fit was fun. Also, be sure to recess the amp otherwise you'll rub against the panel. I completely removed the foam thing attached to the panel. Does anyone know what those things are for anyway???
