so the doors unlock after the timer counts down? What is the timer for? A cool down? A wind up? Again, please be more specific.

its a turbo timer and the reason it counts down is because after running your car hard with a turbo you should let your car idle for a little while so that the turbo and engine can cool down it basicaly extends the life of your turbo. the timer starts after you take your key out and exit the car it counts down and when it is done counting down it shuts off the car and thats when the problem comes in the doors unlock which is a factory setting. i cant be more specific than that

so wait, the title of the post is screwing with me. You mean the settings on your scion security, or the turbo timer has a function on it that unlocks your doors...

i don't ever recalling any type of auto unlocking anything for scion security...

you don't have it. it's another alarm, read your manual.

Acutally, I know what you are talking about now.
I have come across a few Scions that lock when you put the car in drive and unlock when you turn off the car. I am sure that your timer can be programmed to lock the car again, but I don't have one so don't quote me on that.

You can disable the lock/unlcock feature but, again, I don't have it so I don't know how. I would recommend you ask a dealer about it. If all else fails, you can simply run a new hot wire to your locks so it's not connected to the brain of the car. Though, this is easier said than done.

yeah ill just ask a dealer and see because i am perty sure that it is the scions ecu not the turbo timer that is unlocking the doors when it shuts off

Anyone figure this out yet?I'm running into the same problem.I can't lock the doors through my stock keyless entry or activate my DEI python alarm until the car shuts itself off.

doesn't the python have it's own turbo time function? I know my compustar does. completely different animal, but I would expect all high end alarms to have that function.

i believe that it does, but since I had the greddy laying around I figured I would use it for 2 reasons:
1.The greddy has a usable interface that I can program while looking at and is easily changed at will without digging under the dash, and
2.I have no idea how to program the DEI and am not even certain that it does have the feature.

I might end up having to use the DEI's turbo timer feature if it comes down to it,but I'm hoping that there is a relatively easy fix for my problem.

ok. i dont have much input except, my friend with a SR/240 had the same problem and he ended up having to buy a better alarm with the turbo timer built in. i dont know if you can change the setting in our cars but you might have to end up doing the same thing.
