Default How to protect my scion Lo jack??

well i have my scion tc and have been putting lots of money in to my audio system. soon im planning to spend more money such as rim's,tv's and other stuff to make it look nice. currently i have a Viper 791xv alarm witch tells you if someone hits your car. But i know people can still steal my car if they wanted to. i was wondering if lo jack would be the solution for me. hopefully that would make me sleep better at night. the price tag is kind of high that could go to some rims or some other stuff but if it really works then its worth it. if anyone has any suggestion please let me know. im so concerned because i park my car in front of my house witch is some whar a busy street.

Well I got Lo Jack installed in my car from the dealership. I tell you one thing I might still be concerned about somebody hitting my car but having Lo jack certainly made me sleep better. I think if you are going to put so much money into your car it's going to attract the wrong kind of attention. Might as well get it because what's the point of getting rims if they are going to get stolen.

what lojack does is basically installs i think 16 sensors that are hidden all over ur car, those sensors are satellite linked to police radars everywhere. IF ur car does get stolen lojack will most likely get ur car back within 2 hours, and if they for some reason they can't find ur car then they buy ur car from u, so its a good peace-of-mind security system.

lo jack unfortunately only works after they steal your car... but yeah... it does work.

there are also other systems that can track your car's position out there.. just google around and you should find some... i think Viper has some gps locater things too.. but yeah... pricy.

but i would think that breaking into your car and stealing everything would be more probable as far as what would happen... instead of them taking your car. for that, i rely on the engine immobiolizer.. but yeah... whatever man. whatever helps you sleep at night.

btw, if you're gonna get rims, get some good wheel locks depending on your area... you wouldn't want to wake up one day to find your car on cinder blocks and/or a jack..

LoJack operates in areas of the country with the greatest population anddensity, highest number of new vehicle sales, and highest incidence ofvehicle theft. LoJack operates in all or part of the following states:

Statewide coverage (over 80% of the population)

Arizona
California
Connecticut
District of Columbia
Maryland
Massachusetts
Michigan
New Jersey
Rhode Island

Major Metropolitan areas, cities and high crime area coverage

Colorado
Northern Delaware
Florida
Georgia
North Carolina
Northeast Illinois
Southeast Louisiana
Washington
Southern Nevada
Southeast New Hampshire
Southeast New York
Southeast Pennsylvania
Central Texas
Virginia

And if they take your car into a parking garage you might not find you car. With the low area of coverage there are beater options out. Another system covers the whole US and is only 600.

I know in Washington the Puget Sound is the only area coverd not the whole state.

from what i know and what my installer told me. The alarm i have in my car considering it having remote start. Thats its impossible for someone to hot wire it. That if they tried stealing it they cant do it. He's like alot of people dont know about this, but honestly if someone saids they can hotwire your car, they cant.

well thats because of the whole chip in the key thing. but a tow truck can easily pick up your car and have it gone real quick.

I am getting the viper system because if it does get stolen and they do take it to a parking grarage, ill still know where it is since it will track the car all the way there.

I used to work for a tracking company and our system recovered lots of stolen cars. I can tell you, that if you have a DEI alarm with ESP get the 1020GPS system, It is a sweet system and pretty cheap. Only $100 a year (cheaper than i thought originally).
