Default HVAC/Gauge Cluster Swap

hey guys, quick question,

im doing an hvac and gauge cluster swap soon....gonna do 2 tone where the numbers on the gauge will b white, and the tick marks will be blue (so i will need blue vinyl). also, if i want white needles...do i paint them white? how do i make it so it looks blue during the day, but white at night?

i want to change all the warning leds to blue like the seatbelt, door open etc...

on the hvac i want the tempreture leds to stay the same where it changes color with temp....so i duno if i have to change those leds or not...i want the text on the buttons to be blue, and i cant decide if i want the ON indicator to be blue or white (any1 have pics?)

so my question is, how many leds will i need, and what colors? and which led company should i go wit? ledmod? garage1217?

Contact Jeremy (Garage1217)

http://www.garage1217.com

he has diagrams on the site and tells you how many you need.

Wow... that would be crazy. Jeremy (garage 1217) would defenitly know if you can do that or not. I'd contact him and ask. That sounds very complex though. Good luck! Post pics when your done!

They would be a little harder to see since the faces are silver but not bad looking at all! I have lots of customers running that look and all of them dig it. At night, the white needles look awesome!

unless you find yourself some color changing paint that will change under the correct conditions.. that will most likely not be possible.

white needles during the day do not look bad and it's been done before.

i've even seen people just clear out the entire needle and run clear needles.. a little difficult to see at first, but you can adjust to it fine.

I am sure I can do it, but it would not be cheap and would have to be done in house. For those that would want to attempt it, I would make up some small boards and use a small relay so that when the gauge face lights went off, blue leds under the needles came on. Not rocket science but very time consuming.
