OK this might be a stupid question but do you have to remove the foam stuff also to get the box to fit in that space, my spare tire is already gone, so thats no problem, but it seems to me like the foam has to come out also. And how deep are these boxes. Im racking my brain trying to figure out how to fit 2 12"s in this space, with one sorta small sized amp, And not have to lift the floor to the point where it looks ugly, i want that kinda stock floor look with some subs staring back.

I guess this thing doesn't really exist ? Reminds me of a joke I heard once. How do you keep a Scion tC owner in suspense ?

Well... Heres what i came up with after some work. I raised the box a little higher and didn't go for the stealth look. I just thought it was fun and different, maybe you like it or maybe not, but it was very cheap and easy.

It's what is called "vaporware". Great idea that never solidifies.

Well it sounded like a good idea. I hate it when good ideas disappear

It's JL.... they take 20 minutes to think of a good idea and 2 years to put it into action..... naturally they don't want to rush it and they want it to be an excellent product - like all their products. But they take it over the edge IMO...

Elemental Designs had an excellent working stealth design worked up in about a day - had them selling like hotcakes in a month or less... suppose that's part of having a smaller scale business..

Yep, hopefully should receive my box after christmas. My SQ10 hasn't taken a liking to the cardboard box it is in. Probably thinks its being neglected. After I hook it up to my old Alpine MRV-1000 it would probably turn me in for abuse .

I know that people have been waiting for updates. I only had the Stealthbox in my car for a few days and never got a chance to take pictures. By the end of this month, I will no longer be a Scion owner so the SB did not stay.
Due to the delay of the final touches, it was decided that this Stealthbox would be part of the 2007 CES introduction. At great peril to my career, I am sharing this "Spy Photo" of the 2007 New Product guide (well, part of it anyway).
The cliff notes:
Pre-loaded with the awesome 10W3v3.
Maintains the utility of the trunk and the spare.
Ships with a new floor so you can modify it all you want and it will still go back to stock.
Completely hidden.
Made by a company who has been in the vehicle-specific enclosure business since the 80's.
This enclosure is available as soon as pricing is done which is supposed to be tomorrow.
This enclosure is stocked and shipped with the woofer it is intended for only.

No, I will not share the rest of the 2007 guide with you at this time!

Building an enclosure is relatively easy if you know what you're doing, just look at the offerings on here from upstart companies and/or people working out of their garage. Most of Stealthbox R&D involves trying to find the best enclosure/driver combination that matches the sonic signature of the vehicle. The enclosure volume is dictated by what performs best in that car. Too many enclosures are based upon minimum specs given by the manufacturer then shoe-horned into the space. This is why the Stealthbox is preloaded because if it were empty, it's no longer a performance package. With a Stealthbox, if we can't make it sound right, we don't offer it! The whole process can take 3-6 months before the production unit ships.

We do not take SPL measurements because if "American Idol" has taught us one thing, it's taught us that anyone can scream but not everyone can sing. Loud is easy, anyone can do that. Impressive output and realistic reproduction of music is Great Audio. I can tell you that the the listening committee (the folks that give the final up or down vote) thought they were listening to a 12" driver. This is good news for people who like output because these guys ar are very hard to fool!

The short time it was in my car was very enjoyable, I can't think of one reason that people would be unhappy with the performance of this application.

I was mostly looking for in car frequency response without extra processing...

It's in a sealed JL enclosure so I assume it's pretty linear but I was just wondering if you had any graphs or data for in-car...
