jl isnt bad, but again, dont limit yourself to what your friend has to offer, or to namebrand stuff. youll find better sounding stuff from brands that the average stereo customer has never heard of than from mainstream brands. now dont get me wrong, boston makes good stuff for a namebrand company...but i should advise you that when i was recommending them, its only their upper tier stuff that you can go with. to be downright honest with you, if im you, i pick up a set of rainbow profi components, power them with a sundown amp, then throw a 12" Fi Q in the back (or wait til stereo integrity comes out with their new Mag), and power that with a sundown amp also. I then pick up wire from knukonceptz, and find someone to build the box for you. that's my opinion. rainbow makes some of the best components today, and sundown's amps are bricks.....they just wont break.

 

ps out of that the sub is the one thing you could toy around with....theres lots of options. if you can afford more then there's better stuff out there, but for $250, a Q is darn good.

 

Go with the Fi Q and you won't be disappointed, I went with the 15" BL myself and *speechless*...
