Default Locking My Car While Turbo Timer Runs

I just got my Apex'i Turbo Timer installed and I'm wondering if anyone has found a way to have the doors lock when the engine idles after turning off the car. I don't have an alarm, just the factory key with unlock and lock buttons on it. I don't feel like standing next to my car while the timer cools the turbine and am hoping there is a way around this. Searching around the forums, I found this (https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=114411):

I haven't tried this out yet as it doesn't make much sense to me but I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to change some of the wiring so that I can still use the buttons on the key to lock and unlock the car while the engine is still running.

open the door, press the door lock button (on the door) then close the door!

Yeah but doesnt the car auto unlock when it shuts off? I know mine does but that could be from my car alarm. Get a good car alarm and you can arm it from far away. Thats what I do.

Mine doesn't, and it's stock. If I have the door locked, then turn off the car, the door does not unlock until I manually unlock it either with the button or by pulling the handle to open the door.

Locking it from the inside before closing the doors works. Now I just need to get out of the habit of using the lock button on the key and make sure it's locked before I walk away.

if you have your timer set for 30 seconds, why don't you just turn the key to ACC about 20 seconds before you expect to be parked.

that way by the time you park, you've only gotta wait a few seconds before the car shuts off.... and normally during this time, you're getting out of the car anyways.

if you end up needing more time to park, you can always turn the car back to the ON position, which in turn turns the turbo timer off, and repeat if you have to.

Yeah but the point of a turbo timer is to cool down the oil so if you still driving the car while the TT is running then the TT is pointless.

i just figured you're not going to be racing into a parking lot so turning the car to acc and starting the TT before you actually parked isnt a big deal... ah well, nevermind.

I guess your right.

You would have to engage the e-brake in order for it to turn on so be careful yanking on that thing while moving.

you have to engage the ebrake on the newer apexi TT's?

my buddies integra has an apexi tt and after riding around with him i saw him do wha ti described a couple of posts up. he never engaged the ebrake :-/

is there a way to wire the ebrake wire to something that is always +12v to allow you to run the TT anytime?

Well they way I look at it is if you have your TT running and you leave your car. Someone trys to steal while its running. If you release the e-brake the car die. Chances are they wouldnt know that.

But yes, the apex TT calls for it to be hooked up to the e-brake. If you look on thier wedsite I think I heard something about the fake apex TT from ebay not having the e-brake feature....I could be wrong.

is his the same model? I'm not saying his is fake. I'm sure there is a way to hook them up to run without the e-brake. I think the e-brake feature is for safety only.
