Default Need Input on Security System

Hey everyone, so like the titles saids, im in need of a security system. i just moved to NYC and i park on the streets so its really bad, everyday i see window glass shatters from a break in the night before. So i want to avoid this.

Does anyone recommend any cheap security system that is decent and does the job?

Thanks guys!

Having a security system will not prevent people from breaking your windows. It just means that they will have to steal your stuff faster once they hear the alarm start to go off. And by the time you get all the way down stairs and outside, your stuff is gone. If you think it is the blinking light of the alarm in your car that will save you, then just get a blinking light. I have a Code Alarm system. The head unit went bad after 6 months. Don't get a Code Alarm system. But there are plenty of decent systems for the $200 range and that includes being installed. You don't have to spend much for a reliable system. Just pick one.

very true, but having a blinking light is better then no light, makes the burglar think twice about breaking in. you know! haha

Well we can go super cheap and I can send you a diagram to make a "poor mans" security system. All it is, is a couple relays with a blue light that will blink when you lock your car.

Or we can go with the viper 350HV for around $220 installed.

I run a viper 5902 with full colored screen. I run this one because it has a built in rechargable battery, and its a two way system. Meaning if I cant hear the car alarm going off, the remote will blink and make sound letting me know.
