I've lost the little chrome piece of poop shift collar from when i got a short shifter and new shift boot. now i have a 1/2 inch gap between the top of the shift boot and shift ****. what can i do to get rid of this gap? (outside of paying $20 for a new collar)

 

Getto way: Black rubber band, maybe some sort of o-ring?

Best way: Get the collar from a junk yard

 

I had the same problem... what i did was cut the shifter lower and used a universal shift **** a non threaded one. Looks alot cleaner now
