Oh ya, that new AVIC? INSTALLED!
i got mine installed yesterday, and was listening to my ipod. on the first bump in the road the the left side speakers cut out. i hit another bump, and then silence... does this happen to anyone else? i switched to the radio and the sound workde fine. does this happend to anyone else, or should i take it up with the installer?
Sorry if im threadjacking but hey Ack, or anyone else with the newer pioneer F series... do you guys run video on the Ipod classic? the 7th gen 120 gig?? if so how do you do it? I have the D3 and it def doesn't allow me to play video's anymore. Reversing the software/firmware.. is only allowed for the 6th gen classic (80gig and 160gig). Any Idea's? thinking about upgrading to the F series.

^ lol this is true. but don't think i haven't already gone on there for help.... but i've been on there.. and no one is specific.. and they aren't really much of a help.. i pretty much get a yes no or maybe.. but it still isn't detailed enough to get working.

I mounted the mic on top of the steering wheel, to the side. Haven't played around with it too much yet. But that seemed to be the most "out of my way" spot. The GPS receiver is mounted under the dash on top of the double vent at the top of the waterfall... someone pointed out that spot in another thread and it seemed to work just fine. So thanks to whomever that person was for the idea...
I've never had any decent receiver, so I can't really compare features of this and that to any of the others. I do like it so far. The iPod integration is awesome. Mine stays locked away in my glove box now and I have an extra cup holder again!
It IS bypassed. AVIC411 has the details and it's cake. I just grounded the moved mute wire and the parking break wire right into the wire harness ground. No problems so far.
Install wasn't that bad. I had a few extra steps b/c I had to run RCAs and a remote wire to my amp (was previously using signal and remote wire from the OEM sub harness). But this helped in running the reverse sensor wire b/c I had the interior pieces pulled up already.
It does take a while to boot up. Probably 1 min + before any music or anything starts playing. And even while your previous source starts playing, it is STILL booting up. And mine does appear to have the latest firmware.
