I had problems at first making a DVD video also but figure out that you have to convert the format to Divx which is .AVI... Also in the player their is a setting for Divx put it on "letter" it makes the videos look better i think....

you have ot make sure that the .avi file is encoded in divx and not xvid. if it is xvid then you have to change the header so the d3 can read it as a divx file instead. and once it is in a divx file it will be able to play on the d3.

i use fox video converter trial version which cuts off after 5 min of play time but all the videos i had weren't 5 minutes so its working for me. With that program you can encode the .avi file as divx and choose the video and audio playback quality with the click of a button lol...

just got mine installed yesterday along with a set of comps, a sub, and an amp. i paid quite a bit for the installation, and i was ____ed to find out when i got home that the guy didn't put my back seat back in properly. also, my d3 is making a very very annoying wheezing sound. it's very noticeable. it gets louder and higher pitched when i press the accellerator. what is causing this? i'm bring my car back to them tomorrow and getting them to fix it, but i want to be prepared in case the guy tries to tell me "oh that's normal."

Wow, if you paid "quite a bit for the installation" wouldn't you expect or hope that they actually check their work? Keep on them till you're happy! Installing your own audio equipment isn't that hard, especially with SL on your side.

recheck wires to make sure its bypass correctly. also check system menu to see if parking brake is engaged while driving

as for music videos, I converted 30 or so gigs of music videos to ipod format (10gigs) using videora (freeware). Works perfectly since its free and can set up batch.

Got mine today! Thanks, Scionizer!

I might hold off with installing it though. I bought my iPod cable separately, so I will just wait until I get that and install it in one fell swoop.

EDIT: I might not want to wait. hahah

Quick question: I already have the PAC-SWI installed on my other Pioneer HU. Will I have to re-assign the buttons for the D3, or is it just plug and play?

Had one. Will be selling it soon since I just ordered an Alpine IVA-W205 +HD-Radio tuner. Now I just need to get the processor and some amps to finish my system.
