I am going to buy my buddies eclipse subs...and i then need to get an amp obviously. The question is do I need to buy a different cd player or will the stock one be ok. I know almost nothing about sound, just performance. any help would be much appreciated guys

You can use a Line converter so that you dont need to change the headunit.

 

You can certainly use an LOC, works pretty good. But honestly, a new HU is going to be better...but more $$$. If you don't want to spend too much, LOC.
