Default SQ10 rattle

Theres my eD SQ10 has started to kind of produce a rattling or flapping sound when it initially hits. There hasnt been a decrease in volume so i dont think its blown, I actually just think that the silver part on top is loose. Is there an easy way to fix this? I'd rather not send it to them because then I'll be a month without bass.

so... do you just recommend I rip it all the way off and try and glue it back on? or like run a thin bead of silicon around the edge and wipe away excess?

Before you put silicon try to see which part is actually rattling idk if that makes sense. Sometimes you can see the rattling lol.

I had the same thing happen to me with my SQ10. I called them up and they had me super glue the silver cover back on which only helped for a day or two.

After that they sent me a new sub with a prepaid return label for the old one.

No, please don't do that, no one should ever use silicone for speaker repair.

Most silicone puts off a massive amount of toxic fumes while it's curing, and those fumes are so strong they can actually cause the speaker's adhesive to come apart (they use glue in various places during manufacture), effectively destroying the speaker. This is why you need to wait several days before installing a speaker in an enclosure that's been sealed using silicone.

So what adhesive should a person use for speaker repair? They happen to make one;

It's strong, safe, and can be used anywhere, during cone replacement, dustcap replacement, surround repair, spider joining, etc.

yep a speaker glue or poly epoxy will work,check for visual of what is loose and make sure the sub is not bottoming out for some reason and that is what you are hearing.
