I want to put a system in my tc and i have been reading a lot on systems and installs and pricing things out and such but the thing i am having trouble with is finding what i should buy. I want to spend around 5-6 hundred bucks but i dont know what kind os subs and amp i should get. I like loud and i am the type of person that even if i wont use it much i want it. So i basically want the loudest system i can get for 6 hundred. Does anyone have a system in their car that is nice that could be recomended i would really like to hear some feedback from people with tcs that have systems so i can finilaze my decision on what to get. alpine type R 12" in a ported box and 500-1000 watt amp

u can also opt with a w7 like the 10 inch inthe box allready but thatll run you 600 just for the sub and box but its deffinitley worth it

 

Is that your only requirement? Sound quality isn't important to you? You can either get VERY loud for $600 without any regard to quality, but most people choose a compromise between SPL and SQ.

The systems Zsans mentioned won't be the loudest possible for the price, but would be a good compromise.

Also, is it only bass you want to get loud? If you just want to be loud and don't care about the frequency, you could get just as loud for a lot less than $600, using a bunch of horn-loaded piezo drivers.

u can also get some alpine type R 6 and 1/2 inchers for the doors it all depends what u want your system to sound like. you said you wanted lould so you would be more interested in upgrading your middies and tweeters and not so much into a subwoofer.

 

Get a JL Audio 10w6 and a cheap amp
should run about 600 ish...without wiring...and box haha
but you can make a box for like 20 bucks and wiring is like 50...

 

when i say loud i mean loud bass i also want sound quality but loud bass is important. i really want to spend around 600 for everything including box wiring and amp. I got a sony xplode set up in mine for less than $350 from a deal in best buy. Two 10 inch subs in a box and 1200 watt amp. It doesnt take a lot to make everything shake because of the tc's trunk.

I'd rather get a setup from those choices over the low end Sony X-Plode line-up. I've heard a lot of bad things about their products, esp about them not lasting very long.

Otherwise, I'd save up a little more money and get a setup from Mandos from Elemental Designs. Sweet and high quality products, reasonable price, and best customer service around.

 

i agree with the 10w6 no need for two subs in such a small car i know u want it to hit hard but jl audio knows thier stuff and the sound quality outta there is by far the best <-- my opinion. But yes the l5s would be very nice espically in such a small car

 

Got a link to the combo you're talking about? 2x12" L5 ported certainly has the potential to get very loud, but what "1600w" amp is that. You also didn't mention the price, so I don't know if it'd fit your budget after wiring.

Sounds like you're looking for a prefab box (already loaded or not), such that you don't want to build your own, correct? Do you mind giving up all your hatch space? Are the looks important too, or just that it's loud and sounds decent?

I'm not inclined to recommend specific compopnents that comprise a solution until I'm certain what your requirements are.

 

it is not a combo i am looking at i am looking at 2 12" l5 subs that i am goin to put in a ported box. The amp i am goin to be getting is the 1600w hifonics brutus amp which at 1 ohm puts out 1600w. i am goin to wire the subs down to 1 ohm.
i do want the subs to look nice and that setup will look pretty good. the l5 subs have a nice look to them. i do not want to build my box. i would like to have some hatch space left because i would like to be able to put some things back there. The setup i am looking at will run me about 650 after wiring. I am going to be gettin them NEW on ebay not used

 

I would suggest the W6 or W7 if you was looking into that. The Kickers L... likes to be tuned at higher Hz (ex.~60Hz) or so. If you are venturous enough go with this company ficaraudio.com, the SSDs will rock your socks off, or if you want to spend a little more go with the Q. (if you know RE audio you will know where ficaraudio came from) Pre-fab box I would like for you to shy away from it as far as possible. Ported boxes are a science when it comes down to the sub itself. For the amp I would stay away from the Hifonics, since they are a little bit over rated. I thought about getting it before but I ended up getting a RF T10001BD (birth sheet was rated at 1450watts at 1ohm for an amp that is advertise at 1000w at 1ohm). An RF T10001bd can be had for cheap, I got mines for $400 (MSRP $699)out the door from an authorize dealer. Don't like that amp? Orion 1500D, Sundown SAZ-1500D, etc...

 

yeh i bought 2 "new" subs on ebay..came in an open box one new and scratched the other used and blown..not actually blown but fried..and then the seller just disappeared..

im not gonna hate on ebay just make sure you get what ur paying for

 

yea im gonna buy from an ebay store and from someone with like 1000's of positive feedback. I heard the l5s today and they seemed real nice. I think i am goin to go with 2 10" l5s in the factory kicker ported box. i am gonna use the hifonics 1600w amp and at 2 ohms it will put out 1100w.
